I love it when college teams bring out a play from peewee football playbook. It worked but not because it was a trick play, the o-line just beat the d-line. Still fun to watch IMO.

NAVY WINS!! 17-13.
What a game, what an event!
Running the ball with some good technique and creativity can be very entertaining
Love it! Represents the best of the spirit of college football, and it is even more than that.
I think the idea of trying to field a replacement team for the Gator Bowl on such short notice is crazy. Now, if the NCAA had said to the next one or two teams in line (i.e., those who just barely missed being bowl eligible) - continue to hold practice and conditioning in case we need a replacement team - maybe the idea of a replacement team wouldn't be so crazy. It looks like Rutgers may be the replacement team for the Gator Bowl. https://www.usatoday.com/story/sport...am/9003314002/
Rutgers, Texas, and Illinois are the top 3 5-7 teams on the latest APR list which is still in effect.
Totally agree about the contingency situation.
Word from some circles indicates that LSU may not be too far from going below the minimum available players too with injuries, CCP virus, and the transfer portal. That could set up Kansas State vs Wake Forest.
Is UGA really 8 points better than Michigan? Is there any team in the country who would not be a 13.5 point dog to Alabama? I wish with everything in me that Alabama would get beaten. Kirby seems to lay eggs in huge games. Michigan could win that one going away, IMO.
Should bowl selections be made after we learn who is opting out from each team? Many of these teams are mere shells of themselves since so many key players opt out.
Oklahoma is MANHANDLING Oregon in the Alamo Bowl. The Sooners already lead the Ducks 30-3 with less than a minute to play in the 1st HALF! This is truly like watching grown men play against a bunch of little boys.
While that sounds good on the surface, how do you do that when most conferences have bowl contracts with specific bowls? Besides, you would have to have a "seeding committee" of some sort, much like the NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament has. And that's just going to involve even more people telling you want you can and can't do. Just let 'em play. Maybe these "shells" of teams will get tired of getting their ass beat on national TV.
It’s just so disappointing that outside of the playoff, many of these games are just bad football. Bowl season used to be really exciting. Now we have players for Ohio State opting out of the Rose Bowl.
Bowls select their teams on the previous years performance. The bowl games are played as the 1st game of the next season. Only games played after the conference championship games are the playoff/nc games. Puts a lot of value back on winning the conference and provides some excitement to start the season. Eliminates all the players opting out at the end of the season.
