I mean these are all just like the Spanish Inquisition.... no one expects these now days... how could they have failed!!!
Interesting comment. While it's true that Sonny Dykes followed Derek Dooley --who was hired away by Tennessee-- it's also true that Dooley finished a miserable 4-8 that last season, and lost 6 of his last 8 games. This indicates to me that there was still some significant "rebuilding" that Sonny Dykes had to take on in his first season.

Baylor just ran THIS EXACT SAME BOOTLEG PLAY today for their first TD against OSU in the Big XII Championship game. (Baylor currently leads 14-3 early in the 2nd Qtr.)
Dave Aranda and HD: What can I say, GREAT MINDS think alike. Aranda will run it, but Skip Holtz wouldn't.
Wow guys, Baylor is looking really good. The Bears are up 21-3, with 5:22 left in the 2nd qtr.
21-6 at the half. OSU blocked a FG as the half expired. Ole MO builder! Get 2nd half kickoff. Pokes need a TD to get back in it.
So far, Baylor's defense and "violent" running game is spelling the difference. Long way to go though...

Coach Cumbie needs to walk into the LA Tech locker room holding a football and say, "Boys, this is a football, we are going to start at square one, get familiar with what we need to do to be winners, and be ready to kick ass this coming season!!!" GO DAWGS!!!!
Good idea 70TechGrad.
‘’May I also suggest that we get wooden 8 foot high letters (or a banner) with the words “COMPETE”. Gather all the players out in a field somewhere, over by the railroad tracks near the Field House. Start a bonfire and throw the COMPETE letters in the bonfire and Coach Sonny declares, “From this day forward, we don’t “compete”, WE WIN. And give each player a simple banner or sign that they can hang in their dorm room that says “WE WIN”. And have “WE WIN” everywhere in that field house and locker room.
We win. We are ate up with winning .
I believe that we would “Compete” was one of Wood’s statements when he was hired.
I think his definition didnt align with Holtz’s.
