Certainly wouldn't be coming for a big increase in salary, but looking back, LA Tech could probably get close to matching his current salary if he came in as a coordinator. For a lateral move as a position coach - forget about it.

And all the while, Holtz was still complaining about the loss of 95 seniors from the 2012 LA Tech roster.

Holtz was too stubborn for his own good. So, I have no doubt that the reason the Holstein kid never got a real try is because of Skip Holtzs' stubbornness.
A real head scratcher for sure. Along those same lines, I have not understood why Griffin Herbert was not utilized more. Hunter Lee/Trent Taylor/Griffin Herbert - I have always considered them to be great 3rd down short yardage options - any down really, but especially 3rd down when you had to have it.

Agreed! I have been hollering from the wilderness for Griffin Hebert to be our "go-to" guy. But Holtz is an idiot.

I've lost track...does Hebert return in the '22 season or did he graduate? Dude's a ballplayer. I also am a fan of Tyler Grubbs. The team's had wayyyyy more talent than the record showed this year.

Agreed. That play he made at Nevada is legendary in LA Tech football lore.

As is being forced out of bounds on the play by our quick thinking Sr. Wide receiver.

Aaron Allen just announced he is entering transfer portal. Graduating with 2 yrs of eligibility left.

OMG! How will I sleep tonight???

    Very well, thank you.

He should go play at a DII school or at best some lousy FCS school. The SWAC would be perfect for him. The quality of play lacks a bunch there.

    Good luck to Allen.

He showed the occasional flash, but couldn't seem to put together a whole good game. Hopefully he finds a good fit somewhere. I sure hope this means a transfer is on the way or we're going to be really young (or really old I guess) at QB.

If true, hopefully an FCS school will pick him up and give him a chance. It appears to me that reality may be setting in about the evaluation skills and expectations of excellence related to our new coach. A few players will leave, replaced by higher level athletes who will excel in a new style led by the new coach. There is a new day @ Louisiana Tech and I am optimistic of better times ahead for both fans and athletes.

Id rather see A Allen leave than Head! Allen was given ample opportunities to prove his worth and failed! Now if Cumbie is a true QB whisperer and can make Allen a legit D1 QB then Im sold on Cumbie! It will take a herculean effort to make Allen a real QB!

Wishing Aaron the best at his new school. While he obviously wasn't a D1 level quarterback, I'll always remember his leading two fourth quarter scoring drives last season with us down by 14 to UAB, including the game tying 24 yard td pass with 10 seconds left as we beat UAB in OT in Ruston. Hope he's proud of his Tech degree even as we both move on.

LOL! Our QB's finally get a coach who knows how to coach QB's, and they all fly the coup. What does THAT tell you? Seriously, it makes me wonder if Coach Sonny told them to find another address for next year?
