JD Head entering transfer portal. I’m not upset by it.
I’d rather he didn’t. I think JD has some potential. It would be better for Tech to have some options of QBs. We’ve already seen time and time again how bad things can get when you only have 1-2.
If he doesn’t think he can compete for the job, I’m not sure I want him to stay.
That may not be the reason. He spend a lot of time in an apparently toxic locker room and on the sideline that we know our former coach allowed to act like junior high players.
BTW, we were down 3 TDs in one game and I saw one of our offensive starters having a great time with the opposing team's video stream...dancing and singing away.
Didn’t we all want a new coach who will change the culture? Hoped he would stick around to find out.
I would have liked for him to stay and add some muscle. If he doesn’t want to be here though, good luck in the portal.
Entering doesn't mean he is gone yet. Just the first step.
But if he doesn't want to stay, wish him the best and we move forward.
All of the dead weight in this program wasn't in the head coach's office. And the time to lose that dead weight is now.
I have been expecting to hear that Aaron Allen is entering the transfer portal, but perhaps he'll stick around if Head does indeed leave. If Allen is the best Cumbie has available for QB1 next year, it's not going to be pretty IMHO. https://247sports.com/Season/2022-Fo...utionkey=24121
I hope he doesn't leave. He showed some good flashes.
If he has to go though, I expect a decent amount of sophomoric humor from the usual suspects to ease the pain.
He needs to gain weight. Like eat a few burgers and a milk shake.
If these guy want to enter the portal, my best wishes are for them. It just means they are not happy with their current situation or in their eyes they feel that the grass is greener else where. Good luck moving forward.
There are certainly a lot of people in the portal - even a lot of QBs from P5 schools. For many, I guess a player has to decide whether they would rather be a little fish in a big pond or a big fish in a little pond. Since most college players will not become NFL players, getting a quality education and/or playing time could be important considerations. I know if I had the choice of being QB4 at a P5 school or QB1 at a high quality academic FCS school, I'd go the FCS route. But, I'm not an 18 year old kid who was a superstar QB at Small Town USA High School who believes I'm the next Patrick Mahomes so I'm sure my thought process is a lot different than the average 18 year old athlete. Anyway, I think there has bound to be a great QB who would be a good fit at LA Tech. Maybe Caleb Holstein is the guy - and he is already at Tech. https://247sports.com/Season/2022-Fo...positionkey=57
Well hopefully we can start anyone other than Allen next year
