I would draw this conclusion if JD and Aaron would have transferred when Holtz was still here. There have been several QB's to transfer during Holtz's time, but seems they likely concluded they would be given zero opportunity. If anything, with the new coach JD and Aaron should have some optimism that the culture if rotten, would change for the better. I don't expect they themselves are the causes of a bad culture. I do expect they must have come to the understanding that HCSC already has plans for QB1 that aren't do not include them. There is enough real game film of them for the new coach to have an idea if they would be a good fit in his offensive plans.
I wish them luck. The portal is crowded. Hope they find somewhere to play where they can really have fun playing football and be successful.
And he has a great one still coming from Louisiana!

I hear you, good discussion.
But, why are both starting QBs leaving when Tech gets a HC that, by all that we're hearing from Texas Tech and others, is an outstanding QB and offensive coach, especially compared to Skippy ????
Has new HC Cumbie already told them where to go and how to get there? .... (the transfer portal and via the web) ... might need to bring some Dr Pepper

They saw Nico. "Nico's time is NOW!"
And we know State doesn't need a punter who materializes in the portal without at least a DP 12-pack.
Off topic, but the series of DP Fansville commercials was about as good as it gets this year. Even making fun of themselves in the season finale.
I wholeheartedly agree. I can't see any program hiring him as a Head Coach. OC maybe...but, not a head coach AND that is a far reach. Just because your a good OC or DC does not mean it will transfer to being a good head coach! For Pete's sake, we've seen a lot of that over the past several years through the coaching carrousel. A lot of names come to mind. Many of those are now looking for jobs.
I think "IF" he is lucky, he may get a gig as a sports commentator or analyst on some network and that's about what it will amount to. There is no accountability in his commentary on those shows and if he F's up his prognostication, no one gives a rats ass because he is not responsible for the W or L column at the end of the day for any given team!
