I can imagine that Cumbie is the kind of person that would daydream about being a HC and would already have a short list of who he would like to have on his staff.

For sure. Every one from grad assistants on up probably has their lists of guys they'd call. I just assumed most wouldn't come on until after the early signing day and coach's conference. I'm glad I was wrong.

The dissection of SFA continues. I hope they were really that good. I sure don’t see a new and ambitious younger coach hiring a bunch of coasters like that other guy used to do.

I think he is probably trying to get the best he can and also the best that he can for whatever the pay range is for our assistants. We know we don't pay enough to get a QB coach from most P5's to come here and just coach QB's. As long as these guys work hard and beat everyone they should beat the first year that's better than the previous staff coaching down or not coaching at all and getting whipped like we did.

That being said does SFA have a board? I wonder what they are thinking right now.
