I think Junior got shorted on the rebound count. He had to have had 20+ rebounds.
These are the basketballs we have used. For our home games, we use the official ball used for NCAA & NIT tournaments (Wilson NCAA Evo NXT). Interesting that being an adidas school, we don't use their basketball and bats/gloves for baseball.

According to the stats, Archie was 3 for 3 from the free throw line.
https://www.espn.com/mens-college-ba...meId/401372710
For almost 30 minutes after the game, ESPN showed UTEP with 51 points and CBS Sports showed them with 52. Also, when Tech scored their first point of the game --a free throw-- the scorekeepers assigned the point to UTEP instead of Tech. It finally got corrected after a commercial break.
That stat crew made mistakes all night long, and made the easy one's look hard.
Despite those 18 rebounds, Junior did not have a good game:
- he had 4 turnovers by himself.....and I really think it was more than that
- he missed a slam dunk layup (How do you do that at 6'7"?)
- he scored 11 points in 28 minutes of play. That's not great for a star player
- he was 1 of 3 (33.33%) from the free throw line
- Normally a great passer, Junior only had 1 assist in this game
Fourteen of Junior's 18 rebounds were Defensive, and Junior got'em because UTEP missed so many shots at the start of the game. All Junior had to do was stand under the basket and pick up the misses. The position he plays puts him in the best position to capitalize on those misses.
By Junior's standards, this was a below average performance. But the truth is, if Jamal Bienemy doesn't shoot way over his average (28 points last night vs 13.8 average), Tech would have easily won by 30 pts.
Junior had an off night vs. UTEP but truthfully he is struggling this year by his standards. It is referred to as the "sophomore jinx." I think he is just pressing too hard and just needs to relax and allow the game to come to him. Easier said than done for competitors like Junior. He wants to help Tech win and he knows how good he is, so he is pushing, trying to do too much. He has a strong supporting cast, especially our trio of guards: Williams, Archibald, and Willis (WAW)! Hunter is coming along, and I'd like to see spells of both Lofton and Hunter on the floor at the same time. Those two combined with WAW may prove to be our Best Five come crunch time, like in the conference tourney.
I don't know about elsewhere, but the boxscore on Tech's website has been updated to reflect Archibald was 3 of 4 on FTs. And who is Archie anyway?
