Ron Franklin Passed Away

One of the all time great college play by play TV guys passed away Tuesday. He was a very skilled and talented play by play guy. His talent was such that you could watch a game of his with no interest in either team yet still enjoy the broadcast.

I doubt Ron ever called a LaTech football game but Ron was money when calling a Saturday night SEC game. He was a very special talent.

When it comes to old school PBP guys, radio or TV, our Nitz is one of the last living top tier talent guys…of course, he is retired.

Nits and Franklin should have started a broadcast school for the younger generation….it would have paid dividends for the masses.

Franklin was a good broadcaster. Enjoyed his calls of games very much.
