    End of a era!!

Last year it was the best player in Louisiana professional sports history.

This year it is the best coach in Louisiana professional sports history.

Imagine if Brees would have passed the physical in Miami. Or Green Bay hired Payton, or both things happened that way, how different things would have went.

A chance Saban stays in the NFL (if Brees is a Dolphin), think how college football would be so different. Smaller coaches salaries, more parity, more coaching stability, and no Bama dominiation.

Best of luck to coach Sean.

The most nervous coach in the NFL right now has to be Mike McCarthy.

Even if no change is made for 2022, he has to know he is now officially on the clock.

You got that right! I really don't think Payton coaches in the NFL next season. But 2023? Whew.

    I
do not think Dallas is a better fit for him. Easy owner to play for here, much more patient. If Winston stayed healthy this year the Saints would have been in the playoffs. $15 million a year here and the owners loves you no matter what. One of your best friends is your GM. The only thing is salary cap hell for a few more years. But he deserves to write his own story. Wish him nothing but happiness. My son has several things signed by him, will only go up in value as he makes the HOF. LOL

Once a Saints' fan, always a Saints' fan.

Mrs. B needs to hire an energetic, innovative, young coach...kind of like Mr. B did in 2005.

Had heard rumors that Aaron Rodgers was interested in possibly coming to the Saints to finish out his career. But, that had included playing for Sean Payton. So much for that.

I like Belihmey up at KC - or Lombardi out in Chargerland or Flores from Miami - I'm not sold on Dennis Allen (can he get over the Raiders stigma)

Got to have a top flite offense and an upper echelon qb to win in this league now - I think its going to be a LONG row to hoe...

I think Sean saw that and is getting out while the getting is good - sit two years through 2025 (still under contract till them) and then be primed and refreshed to cherry pick the top job available

Nah, Sean's too smart to coach at Dallas.

I think it's 50/50 he ever coaches again.

He has a 37-year old wife who, rumor has it, wants to start a family. He's 58. So it's now or never for that. Also, he stressed the fact he's about to move into a house in NOLA. He's not moving out of the city. There is a home in Audubon Place that's been undergoing massive renovations over the past year. It's believed that's where he and the wife are headed.

    ---------------------------------------------

If he coaches again my money would be on the Chargers.

    Daughter in LA.

    Young, Pro-Bowl level QB.

OC is long time Saints assistant Joe Lombardi.

A place where you could make $12 million a year plus and live in relative anonymity.

I believe that is exactly where he is headed according to every source I can find. He will join a tv crew soon for the salary. I truly believe he wants to dissect what teams are doing on tv. Brees might have told him that it is a sweet deal. He may coach again in a year or two, if that isn't what he expects. He knows that working for the Saints is a MUCH better situation than working for the Cowboys administration, though.

As for the Saints, once the salary cap is dealt with, they will be fine. I don't see a return to the Aints anytime soon. They still have a defense and I would not doubt Dennis Allen will take over and hire an offensive mind for the OC. I wouldn't want Rodgers at QB. Short term gain like the Bucs got, but we need our own franchise QB again. That will take a little time.

Best QB in the NFL with the most upside growth: Josh Allen.
