Grambling NIL Deal / All Athletes

A source tells ESPN that Grambling State University is set to announce a Name Image and Likeness deal for all of its scholarship student athletes, where every Grambling athlete receives annual income for their NIL. The deal is believed to be the first of its kind.



The income amount is unclear right now. The school has a commitment from two companies – Urban Edge Network and Athylt – to provide income for all Grambling scholarship athletes.


This should help new Grambling football coach Hue Jackson as he starts to build the Grambling program.

As we have seen in the past, everyone will give Grambling benefit of the doubt until something looks weird and a building housing all their computers with the financials is burned to the ground.

All one has to do is look at the company's website, LinkedIn pages, and the LinkedIn pages of its founders to ascertain that it's a gong show...and that money in paper bags will be passed!

FWIW. My son is being recruited by Grambling to run track. I asked the coach what his thoughts were on the NIL deal. He wasn't sure if the deal was even going to happen.

The organization revealed Biffle would drive its No. 44 Grambling State University/HBCU League Pass Plus Chevrolet, confirming the news that the team teased through its social media channels last week.

The team owned by Grambling State alum John Cohen, who is a marketing partner of Urban Edge Network, Inc., will use Richard Childress Racing-built cars and Hendrick Motorsports engines.

Good for them to do something different. Bubba Wallace having success is most definitely getting the attention of black sports fans that haven’t felt included in the sport EVER. As we all know to grow a sport you must not make anyone feel like it isn’t for them. This is a genius move in my opinion. Hope Biffle can make the field. Hendrick and Childress are mainstays. I’m sure they see this as an opportunity for their own brands as well. Thing of beauty!
