The Lady Techsters have won 4 of their last 5 games, and should easily win 4 of their next 5 as well. Wins should be over FIU (2/5) and UTEP (2/7) at home, and then @UTEP (2/17) and UTSA (2/19) on the road. I expect a loss to Charlotte at home on 2/10.

At that point Tech should have a 16-9 record, and should win 2 (over UNT & UAB) of their last 4 regular season games to finish 18-11. I guess there is a chance Tech could beat Rice at home (on 2/24) and finish 19-10.

I agree with that prediction. There is a possibility they get to a 20 win season, if they play their butts off. That would be a big improvement over the last years. One of those wins was over UAB (the top team in the West). We have potential with a young team. I hope they just continue to improve.

FIU is very similar to the Techsters in ability. Hoping the homecourt proves to be the difference today.

On fire so far. Maybe the best we've played all year.

So of course all the highlights are of the team down 13

Brannon is a sensational freshman, really should just say player. She is athletic and moves like an athlete. Some players look like they are trying to move in wet cement. Walker is terrific! 9 for 9 today, 22 pts. Pretty good Roberson is a good scorer. I like that she caught the ball up high and did not bring it down where their guards could swipe at it. Instead, she kept the ball high and shot a short jumper. That's how the tallest player on the floor is supposed to do it in traffic.

FIU is not a bad team, but we made them look bad today.

    WTG Techsters! Good win.

Excellent win! We have now won 5 of our last 6 games. One of those wins was against West leading UAB. We are one game out of second and 2 games out of 1st in the West (plus, have beaten the #1 team in the west). I won't talk about the East side of CUSA, as they are really dominating this year, but we are in a much better spot than we were on the west side and, actually, have a chance at winning the west if we play like we did yesterday.

Looks like I called this one pretty well back on Feb 4th. Except, of course, I thought we would beat UTSA and lose to Rice. Oh well.

IMO, the Lady Techsters have shown a lot of grit down the stretch this season. They are a much better basketball team today than they were back in January. Brooke should not only be credited for getting better players during the last offseason, but also for making the midseason adjustment in late January to a bigger lineup, when she moved Thompson into the starting lineup, and emphasized that more girls than Walker and Roberson needed to score. That's called COACHING, folks.

This team should have a real chance in the CUSA Tournament. They are in the first flight with UNT --whom they've already beaten twice--, Charlotte -who they lost to by only 3 pts, and MTSU, which they haven't played, but has lost 4 conference games themself. So nobody's un beatable in this women's tournament.

This Lady Techster team is probably gritty enough to make the tournament semi-finals for sure, and maybe the finals.
