And if feedback was not solicited, then Wood lied since he said in a radio interview that athletic staff was supposed to be out in the tailgating area getting feedback at a home game or two toward the end of the season. I would hope that feedback was not solicited from just those on "the secret list" that historically have been the only ones whose opinions apparently mattered. Thought we were beyond that, but maybe not.
Season ticket holders who are members of LTAC were not solicited...I suppose those at the White, Red or Blue levels could have been solicited. Of course those peeps will be in the AC and won't care about the common fans. Also, there were literally less than 5K in attendance the home games last year.

Word is, they will totally do away with tailgate areas that have been in place for decades. More of the asphalt BS is what people are being told. ABSOLUTELY ZERO feedback was solicited from the normal fans who have had to jump through hoops for the past 10 plus years of Guice/McClelland...and apparently now Wood.

Tech makes it too hard to be a regular fan. Sincerely, LTAC member who has not been solicited for anything...except to up my contribution.

No denying that Tech has a long history of making everything harder than it should be or needs to be.

And it would be nice if Tech finally started applying the 21st century customer service standard where feedback is always solicited. Inexcusable for LTAC members not to receive a feedback survey to complete at least every other year if not every year.

And simply taking a survey isn't enough. At least high-level survey results should be made available, and there should a pretty solid explanation of what can or will be done to address top concerns brought up in the survey.

There was a zoom call in April where most of the tailgate spot holders were invited to discuss potential changes.

Given the reaction and questions brought up in the meeting, a meeting was held in the JAS parking lot earlier this month for the spot holders where the new tailgate area was staged.

They did solicit feedback from the spot holders.

The grass areas around the TAC don't appear to be impacted.

The grass areas around the TAC have been impacted for years with the 8:00AM rule. Unless that VERY easy fix is made, things will continue to get worse.

Exactly. Also, the “no parking” rule last year kept a lot of people away. We have been tailgating between the TAC and Argent for years but they are making it much more difficult.

Heard a soft aggressive (and catchy) sales pitch from the beer/water guy Saturday night in the hall corridor of the gorgeous (sold out) Dickie's Arena in Ft. Worth. We were there for the PBR Finals Saturday night and then again Sunday morning (at 9 am) for the start of Championship Sunday.

"Avoid the line, just get mine."

    Short and to the point.

One day we'll have walking vendors instead of the Aramark student help toting ice up and down the elevators DURING games.

Visited Southeastern couple of weeks ago. Apparently a few years back they used my idea of a parking garage to service both their football and baseball stadia. It's located right in the middle of the two venues.

Tech could use one to service the westside Joe fans (leading directly into the skybox levels) and then the TAC when basketball'graduation rolls around.

That would be a huge cost for something that would only be needed 10 times a year. We don't sell out the TAC anymore. Only football and graduation would this be needed. If we start selling out the TAC and having park issues, then maybe I'd consider it. Even then, people can walk 10/15 minutes from the TAC and find parking easily.

Take that supposed money from the parking garage and bowl in the north endzone with seating, not another building.

    Each to their own.
The front of the parking lot could be fronted by a building for athletics administration offices when they gut out the TAC for upgrades.

I thought baseball season tickets were sold out . . . to the Joe/TAC/Ruston core corporate folks.

You're probably right. I guess there is a difference between a sellout on paper (at least with season tickets) and actual butts in the seats. I'll rephrase.

When the stadium consistently reaches capacity with butts in the seats for 50%+ of games over a few years, then I think we can start drafting plans to expand seating.

They could put that building in the North Endzone and put seating in front of it to bowl in the stadium. Kill two birds with one stone. Cost effective way to build new athletic office space and reconfigure seating at the Joe at the same time.

At some point, the corporate types will tire of buying 15-20 seats to every sport at Tech. I hope we have the success and the waiting list sufficient to absorb that hit when it happens.
