No, on the contrary I would say less. When we remove the metal wings, the bowled in part’s seating capacity will be less than that of the metal wings.
They also need to look into adding chair seating from top to bottom from the 20 to 20 on the field. That reduces seating overall but also gives the option of generating more funding by charging more for those seats.
We're going to have to agree to disagree. I think 25-27,000 is sweet spot for how attendance is at the Joe historically. We want the stadium to feel full for a good atmosphere. A Adding more chair seating, while creating more revenue, will push general admission fans towards the endzones, creating a stadium that feels fuller. Furthermore with the bowled in endzone, the band can be put in a position so that everyone can hear them. Keeping a two sided stadium feels high schoolish.
Keep one video board and move it center above the north-end building. Take the money for the other one and use it to bowl in the stadium. Boom, problem solved and we're both happy.
We need some kind of board in the south zone. A nice video board would be preferable, but at least a basic scoreboard with game clock, score, down & distance, Qtr.
