Is it true that Tech will now be selling beer and wine and basketball games starting tonight, the 18th? Is Football next?

Don’t believe the barstool account
It’s being considered and could be in play by football season
From a business standpoint there are tons of hoops to jump through to upgrade the current license at the state and local level, I am pretty sure some observant eyes would get wind of it…
''Don't be a bad dagh..."
I thought it was something else when Ruston got a brewery in the heart of downtown, but beer at the baseball game (or other Tech event) is something I never thought would happen. And yet it apparently has. Amen!
I share this story to show why it is so surprising to me. When I was a student, the student union cancelled a Halloween rock concert and ate a $5,000 or $10,000 fee to the bands after a hue and cry from the Sunday-school crowd arose due to the name of one band. It was Helloween, and you'd have thought the devil himself was the lead singer. The union lamely said/lied that they misunderstood and thought the band was Halloween, but after they were alerted that it was Helloween, the whole show featuring multiple bands was cancelled. I wasn't even going to the show, but the ridiculous objection, the dishonest capitulation, and the waste of my money burned me up.
I graduated right after that and couldn't wait to put Tech and Ruston and such stupidity in the rearview mirror. But like Mac Davis did with Lubbock, Texas, I've come around a bit since. The beer will help!
