I didn't know this. Does anybody know why he left? I can't imagine that as good as Holstein was Thomas Moore HS, that he couldn't compete with THIS bunch of QB's? Maybe he just sees Lyddy as the future QB at LA Tech?

    Jack Turner @jack_t_02 16h

Grateful for the opportunity to further my academic and athletic career at Louisiana Tech University!
Didn't play a lot at Navarro Jack Turner - Navarro College Athletics (navarrobulldogs.com)

Cumbie said last week that Holstein left before spring practice.

The rumor last year was that a QB coach - someone from outside of Tech - convinced him to change his throwing motion.

With the new motion he didn't have anywhere near the arm strength.

The kid went from being able to throw 30-yard out passes in the Dome in the state championship game as a junior against University High to not having anywhere near the arm strength to do anything like that last season.

Anthony landed at Baylor (as a walk-on).

QB coaches are sure over-rated. They've ruined many QB careers. Hell, J'Mar Smith was probably a good QB before Skip Holtz got a hold of him and convinced him to start sliding, etc...

Looks like it's Downing for game 1.
