Have to dictate pace and drive the score up to win this one.

Tech faces UNT in the semis of the CUSA tourney Friday at 11:30am on CBSSN. UNT is 2-0 vs Tech this season, by a combined 8 points. UNT is 1st in scoring defense, plays the slowest offense, and 6th in opponent 3pt%. Tech has to limit turnovers and get to the FT line to advance.

At this point, the inefficient teams are at home. UNT and Tech are well coached, good shooting teams, although UNT can get drawn to the mid-range at times. These coaches put their players in a position to succeed and won’t allow their players to shoot themselves out of the game.

Tech: Junior - stats aside, we just hope that ankle feels ok this morning. Keaston is 9 made 3’s away from the single season Tech record.
UNT: Tylor Perry isn’t quite ranked in 3pt% (he doesn’t have 2.5 makes/g, he has 2.3), but if he qualified, he’d be 6th nationally.

UNT is one of the best defensive teams in the country, if not the best -
They pride themselves in it -
It is their identity - there is no "drive the score up on them"
This game hinges on Loftin - he can't have 6 turnovers when he kicks the ball out on the double team to an open guard - he has to be very efficient with his assists - everyone raves about his assists and passing skill set where he has 91 on the year but he has 96 turnovers which is a deficit of (-4) on the season - and most importantly he can't POUT when he doesn't get the call. He has to go out and play ball and tune out the refs
Got to have Cobe in double digits and Amore has to hit FT's
Green cannot play like he did last night - he can't be a defensive liability and a turnover machine
UNT is going to defend and defend until they beat you in the ground - they want to play in the 50's we want to get the score to the mid 60's low 70's - the over is at 122
''Don't be a bad dagh..."
I attended the WKU game last night. Great game by the Dog's. I think Lofton needs to spend a little more time UNDER the basket. He's got amazing footwork under the basket. Yes, he had a couple of shots blocked by WKU's 7'5 Center Jamarion Sharp (who wouldn't?) last night, but he also got Sharp in foul trouble with 4 fouls and a lot of playing time left. That might be what saved us late in the game.
By the way, last night Lofton hit a couple of nice 8 to 10 footers when things were too crowded down low. He seems to have developed a nice shooting range that wasn't there last season.
UNT doesn't have a 7'5 Center. Their biggest man is Ousmane, at 6'10, which is much more "manageable" for Tech. And Ousmane doesn't rebound or score as much as Lofton does. Because of this, I think Lofton needs to exploit Ousmane directly under the basket, and have his way physically

Lid on the Tech bucket.
Lofton already frustrated. Needs to watch for a bit. Time for the normal rotation.
Tech looks a bit tired already. Not a good sign. Legs are not there on shots.

2 points in 8 minutes won't get it.
5 TO's also.
1-12 on FG's. 8.33%.
I’ve seen better basketball in junior high games. This is embarrassing.
7 Tech turnovers in 10 minutes.
