Keep an eye on all those #12 vs #5 seeds, that's where most of the 1st round upsets occur.

    Yep! Richmond 67 Iowa 63 A #12 over a #5.

    UAB over Houston too?

Halftime Zags 35 Ga State 33

And Ga State has lost their best player, another forward to injury for the game. Twisted knee it looked like.

Webster's is adding a new primary definition for "overrated". It will simply read Mountain West Conference.

4 teams make the field. All 4 teams were given an equal or higher seed than their opponent. All 4 teams lose.

    #12 NMSU over #5 UCONN

#5 St. Mary's clobbered #12 Indiana (I like this one, a Big 10 team being crushed)

    Now, it's #12 UAB vs. #5 Houston

From what I have seen, CUSA was VASTLY under rated this year. We should have 4 teams in this tournament.

    Re: The Dance

Glad to see Kentucky lose! A #2 losing to a #15!

Gonzaga struggled big time with lowly Georgia State. Don't be fooled by the final score, 93-72, game was much close than that, and the Zags went on a 21-0 run at around the 10 min mark when GSU's big man fouled out, joined shortly thereafter by another forward, this after GSU's best player, their Junior! went out early with a knee injury. GSU was down to a 6'5" hardly played freshman from Thailand as their lone "big man."

High seeds Arkansas and UCLA barely escaped with their scalps. Couple of very questionable calls by the refs and a little bad luck doomed their opponents.

UAB is not supporting that opinion very well. It is a tough match up for them though. Loved seeing the Tigers exit! Every year the Big 10 gets too many teams in- this year is no different.

UAB was toast as soon as Walker missed his first three 3s and when Houston got into rhythm shooting wide open 3s.

18 down was always going to be too big a mountain to climb, especially since the game was officiated to where Houston was able to play its more physical game without having to worry much about foul issues.

    Re: The Dance

UH is long, they even have big guards, like 6'4" and they play good team defense, a smothering defense. They don't concede shots from the arc, they challenge them. It was a combination of "just one of those nights" with UH bombing 3s, when they are not a good 3-point shooting team, and UAB missing 3s they usually hit, and UH's good, physical defense. UAB was never going to win that game, but on an ordinary night it would have been competitive, like no more than 4-6 point margin.

UH showed what I have been saying Tech needs when we play teams like UAB, we need defensive specialist who are long. A good 6'5" type guard who shadows a Jelly Walker all night. Don't let him shoot, make him give up the ball. We've had those kind of players before, and need to recruit more.

And CUSA got thumped, UNT is gone from the NIT, and the rest are all losing in the pay-to-play tourneys.

CUSA was drummed out of the post season with a whimper...

PLEASE STOP with all the "CUSA should be a two-bid league" crapola. We're just barely a one-bid league.
