I get it, I get it…but freaking Tulsa?!?
He'll enjoy the money, but he's made a mistake.

I hate to see Konkol go. I thought he was a good match for Louisiana Tech, but I know coaches come and go so I only wish him the very best in his new endeavor.
If he leaves, I'll purchase season tickets and start attending the games again.
I just hope we have some candidates already lined up to interview and we can hold on to our core (including Jr.). He and his family seemed to be all in with Louisiana Tech, so there is a chance. If he follows Konkol or another program poaches him, we will have a big hole to fill. We have a lot of talent and I pray we can keep it.
Konkol is a mediocre coach. He will do okay at Tulsa since it is in the now greatly weakened AAC. There are plenty of mediocre coaches out there, a dime a dozen, and Tech won't have any problem finding another. Just hope we don't end up with a lousy coach. They're out there too.
There is always some uncertainly when stepping out to find a new coach and I get that. But I don't get the doom and gloom I see from Tech fans (usually on Facebook) who imagine we've lost a Coach K in the rough. Sheesh, people. Sure, he wasn't the worst coach we could have gotten but it was very clear he'd reached his ceiling here. Maybe he'll reach higher at Tulsa and I don't begrudge that. But let's be greedy when others are fearful here!
