MONROE, La. – With the final Conference USA series of the year approaching and a opportunity to play for a league title on the line, Louisiana Tech head coach Josh Taylor played Tuesday night's midweek game against ULM with a bigger picture in mind.

It is always a bummer to lose to the school in Monroe, but I think this coach knows what he is doing by giving play time to some that need the experience. Going for a conference championship is the most important thing right now. I am still amazed by how this team has turned things around from the beginning of the year.
After the game ended, ULM celebrated like they had won the World Series. Kind of lame considering we let everyone on the team play to prep for the tournament while they kept their starters in the entire game. But what do you expect?Originally Posted by champion110

Is there even a rivalry if we don't care if we lose to ULM? It's just another non-conference game and we used this one as a scrimmage basically.
And it worked. The Techsters got it done in the first game of the final conference series...
And getting it done today as well. Tech 6-0 in the bottom of the 5th. This might be the makings of a special season like the year in the WAC when we made it to a regional after knocking off 3 ranked WAC teams in the tourney.
