Every team has those guys. You are not one of them. It is called LEADERSHIP. YOU, THE ETERNAL PESSIMIST, WOULD NEVER QUALIFY FOR SUCH A ROLE. Who would want you in the foxhole with them. LB has accomplished some remarkable achievements at Tech. We will probably lose him to a better opportunity soon. Remember a coach named Goff?

LB doing one with www.latechsports.com right now?

Hard to figure, but I'm not in charge of priorities.

Thanks Dave for trying to be there for the obvious.

    CORRECTION:

I was able to visit with Dave this morning at the selection show announcement at the DAC and he clarified some details for me. As a result, I must make this CORRECTION.

Dave said he and Malcolm and a plan after the game IF the Bulldogs won. He would get Lane to Dave for an interview whenever that was. I am thankful the baseball network was flexible enough to stay on the air after those frantic championship celebration activities until the fans could hear from their coach.

I got kinda confused when Dave mentioned Lane was doing an interview for the school website during the downtime (BTW the video interview wasn't on my Twitter account until 6:57pm.)

I feel I must apologize to Malcolm for creating doubt on this board from my vantage point as an eager, listening fan.

    The bottom line:
So, there, they had a plan. It was followed and --

Louisiana Tech wins the 2022 C-USA Baseball Tourney Championship.

    You gotta love it!

You still pouting Sharkass for being a back of the buss part time fan. I have my own championships, thank you very much. Burroughs is not a great coach, he simply has some overachieving players. I know a tag along ball boy and wanna be when I see one and you’re it!

Very few noticed and I’ve seen no mention of it here but I became a big fan of UTSA’s right fielder #4 Chase Keng after the ballgame during the announcement of the all-tournament team

He came over to the Tech team when they were making the photograph with the trophy and tried to get Netterville’s attention but couldn’t due to all the commotion going on

But he was able to get TY’s attention and as he came towards him, he tossed him the ball from Steele’s game winning single to give to Netterville

Very classy move on his behalf and very cool to witness…

Very few opposing team players would of had the grace to do that after a hard fought gut wrenching loss….

    Re: 2022 Tournament Thread

I’ll give Burroughs his due for what I take to be genuinely caring about his players and their successes. I think in some instances he puts guys on the field too much in part in hopes that they’ll break through and be better and for other guys to help build their stats In hopes that he can help their pro ball futures. From one end this to the other as examples are Brantley and Crigger. I also believe Burroughs wants to have Tech be a continuously upper echelon baseball program and I want him to succeed at that. Where I think he isn’t successful is in his critical times game management like letting a faltering pitcher throw too long, not playing small ball often enough (he seems to think hitting doubles and home runs are more likely than laying down a bunt) and his merry-go-round designated hitters (which seem to be more about pitching matchups than which hitter is hotter). A case in point was pulling the semi final game winning hitter, Burchfield, who had to have been hugely confident to drive in more runs in the 8th inning of the championship game for Lancaster to go lefty versus righty... but he struck out looking. So far for repeated years now Burroughs is continuing to not learn or change from what hasn’t worked for him. I hope he gets it ASAP like as early as next week and Tech gets better and better under his watch.

Yep. UTSA has a great Head Coach in Pat Hallmark. His teams are tough but still classy. The same with the Bulldogs and Coach Burroughs. Rice was stupid not to bring him back home to be their Head Coach last year. UTSA needs to invest in their baseball program while Coach Hallmark is there. I don't know how much longer they can hold onto him though. If I was Baylor I would be calling Coach Hallmark asap.

So when your position lacks substance, you resort to name calling. I do need your help, please. Can you please explain what a "back of the bus part time fan" is. I am confused. Most people who refer to back of the bus matters are talking about racial matters back in the days of segregation. Now, I am not accusing you of this. So, if you can enlighten me about what a back of the bus fan is, I would appreciate it very much. Now about your "own championships." Can you provide additional information to your claim--such as when they happened, the sport involved, and the school that benefited from your efforts? Any additional info that you wish to supply will be welcome.

I never said Burroughs was a great coach. But he did deal with the loss to the tornado of the Bulldogs home field. There were days when because of this, he could not have all of his players available for practice at the same time every day. Some had to practice at different times on the same day. He was the coach when Tech hosted the C-USA tournament followed by the first ever regional to be played at Tech. Now he coached the Diamond Dawgs to a C-USA tournament championship. Oh, BTW, can you also define what a "tag along ball boy" might be? When you inject "wanna be" can you elaborate on exactly what it is that I "wanna be?"

So, when Tech wins, the team is populated by "overachievers" according to Bone_Afide_Dawg, and when the team loses, it is populated with underachievers. Now if one pays close attention, B_A_D usually makes these calls after the fact. Someone on this board awarded him with the title MMQB. I would never do that.

Evidently you weren’t there to welcome the team bus otherwise you would’ve surely seen me in my Bone_afide_Dawg t-shirt. It’s too bad because I wouldn’t have minded giving you my whole playing days history. Surely you know you’re being invasive to ask me to answer your noisy questions here. I’m sure you wouldn’t do that if I asked you... if you had anything of interest to answer with that is. As for underachieving and overachieving, I’ve done both. That’s right I didn’t make every tackle which to me was underachieving. On the flip side I also made some tackles, caused some fumbles and recovered a few too which I considered overachieving. Furthermore as a Tech fanatic, former Tech athlete and Tech Letterman, LTAC contributor and longtime football and baseball seasonal ticket holder I’m claiming the freedom of speech to express my opinion regardless of whether you like it or not. From what I see you only come here to continue your personal fight picking with me and so from here on I won’t be wasting my time with you. Like I often say which I’m sure bothers you, “Go Dawgs, eat em up!”
