Great news!
I know the man has his flaws, but he has taken this program up a notch and I love the success of the last two years. I am VERY happy with a new contract extension!!!!!
Not aware of any "flaws" he has as a man. We all have "flaws". Regarding the job he has done, the final results say it all over the past two years. Many, like me need to just forget what we didn't accomplish in 2017-2019 with tons of talent.
Management of the pitching staff and new talent has always been a concern. Actually THE concern. Obviously he knows that. Hopefully having the same pitching coach for two years in a row will help in getting our pitching staff in shape. We also have players on the roster who have been given many chances to produce, but have not. I really believe he knows this and we will see some surprising moves.
So it’s simple, Coach just needs to earn it going forward.
Watching the road to Omaha, I saw a lot of teams and coaches with flaws. Coaches riding a pitcher too long. Players who couldn’t bunt to save their lives. Guys booting the ball all around the diamond. Coaches who ran their guys into outs or ran their team out of an inning. I too hope that LB manages the staff better. I hope he can stick with a DH who hits for average rather than matchups. Lancaster is working on that in Utah. The future is bright provided that everyone in our clubhouse continues to learn, grow, and adapt.
