No. What I'm saying is, if they are giving up $1.75 million next year, they are giving up everything for leaving early.

They gave up their distribution in CUSA for this year and will be providing their cash distribution in the Sun Belt next year back to CUSA.

If they gave up their entire 2021-2022 distributions from the conference plus paid $1.75 million, then that would just about make C-USA whole. That cash amount would replace the amounts C-USA won't get in 2022-2023 from NCAA distributions for those three being members.

Still should have been at least some additional minimal financial penalty (even $500K) for contract breach.

I think we end up breaking into more regionally functional conferences after the big boys break away and quit playing us altogether. Maybe not the sunbelt, but something. That’s just where I think things are headed though. No inside knowledge.

The Golden Eagles gave up this year's Belt distribution to get out of CUSA one year early. $1.75 million. McMurphy's information from several months ago was correct.

I suspect part of the deal was that both sides would try to keep it private.

USM wanted to keep the baseball tournament in Hattiesburg at Pete Taylor Park (aka The Love Shack East) and were willing to pay for it.

She deserves a pay cut for the way the whole situation was handled and for not making sure an enforceable financial penalty was in place for breaches of the conference bylaws.
