I thought I read on Dr Guices Facebook post, something that it was an old or traditional phrase.. perhaps "Ever Loyal Be"?

    That was my first thought.

But maybe it's a freemason or deep state message. I should have taken it to the poli-board for some good conspiracy theory conversation. Hopefully Dan brown will feature it in his next novel.

It's from the alma mater so probably over or around 100 years old.

The clocktower also has speakers that can play the alma mater (or anything really) so that could be a connection to why the code is put in the clocktower per Guice's facebook post.

I'm referring more to its marketing usage which seems more of a recent thing.

Yes, a very lame marketing scheme that has actually backfired based on attendance since...

It's not a good marketing scheme just for athletics as it's not very invigorating but as a university-wide motto for fundraising and alumni outreach and such I think it's great.

I spent 4 hours over the course of 2-3 days. I got nothing.

I love stuff like this. This is a tough one to crack. Any you nerds tried figuring this out?

In late June, during one of his daily walks, Louisiana Tech University President Dr. Les Guice urged followers on Facebook to solve the puzzle using their love of Louisiana Tech and their wits. Sarah Scarlato, a student lifeguard at Lambright, saw a code that was meant to be cracked.
“I have always wondered what the windows meant but never actually took time to try to crack the code on my own,” Scarlato said. “One day I decided I was going to take the time to sit down and figure it out. So I did!”
Scarlato said she solved the code with a notebook, a pen, a pencil and an episode of “The Golden Girls.”

Based on these clues I too have cracked the code.

"Even though she was one year younger Estelle Getty played Bea Arthur's mother on The Golden Girls."

I thought I had the format figured out, but what I think are the individual letters do not seem to match up with anything reasonable.
