So......is this LA Tech's worst home schedule EVER? Sure seems like it to me.
2022 Football Promotional Schedule
Date Opponent Promo Sep. 10 Stephen F. Austin Military Appreciation Day
- 2 free tickets with military I.D.
Oct. 8 UTEP Hall of Fame Game, Time out for Tech, Oct. 22 Rice Homecoming Nov. 5 Middle Tennessee Red Out, Band Day, Extra Yard for Teachers LTAC Appreciation Nov. 26 UAB Day of Giving
- Stay tuned for more information.
In this regard worst and sad are equally interchangeable. Making it that much worse would be losing any of these games. I’m confident that the days of Tech playing down to their competition left with Holtz.
I just hope we “compete”.
See where revenue for Tech merchandise via licensing agreements is up 61%. Didn't give too much details, so is that YOY or what? Anyway, it's UP so that's good, eh.
This is good news, but probably expected, after two years of sales declines. Be nice to see dollar amounts.
Wal-Mart sales up 219%. Newer Amazon store up 82%.

I'd like to have a sixth home game. Other than that....
Maybe I'm in the minority, but....the schedule is ok. Not great but ok.No P5 opponent. But that ship has sailed.
- SFA is the traditional FCS home opponent. They're ranked 9th in the FCS in pre-season poll.
- Rice has been a conference opponent for the better part of the past 2 decades, and we'd like to be back in a conference with them in the near future. A school we'd like to be associated with.
- Middle Tennessee won 7 games last year and went bowling
- UTEP won 7 games last year and went bowling.
- UAB won 9 games last year, including a win over BYU in the Independence Bowl. Another school we'd like to be back in a conference with them in the near future.
Not only is this schedule not horrible, we would be underdogs in at least three of these games if they were our first game.
As for the worst home slate ever? The schedules from 1989 through 1993 were pretty bad also. 3 or 4 home games per year, with most years only one or two I-A teams coming to Ruston. At least we had ULM or ULL most years.
2001 we played 3 games in Ruston against SJSU, Rice, and Boise (before they were Boise). Rice and Boise games ended up being a big deal because of the conference title hunt, but on paper that's not an amazing schedule (we also hosted SMU in Shreveport).
