I just don't know what LA Tech has OFFENSIVELY this year? Tech folks have been kind of mum about it during this preseason. But, if LA Tech can MOVE THE FOOTBALL offensively --and score TD's-- I honestly don't think Missouri can match that. Missouri is a bad football team. Problem is, I still don't know if Tech can move the football. Holtz couldn't do it.

Yep. I want to see in game adjustments if what we're doing isn't working. Mizzou is a bottom tier SEC program. The line, IMO, means nothing. It's the average P5 hosting a G5 line. I want to see offensive creativity and defensive intensity. If I see those two things, we'll be moving in the right direction.

I know it's not the exact same situation, and the transfer portal has/will impact this (for everyone) a ton, but I keep thinking back to what Dykes (and Leach and Franklin I think) have always said about the Air Raid. You can install in 3 days, but it takes about 2.5 years to really click. Part of the philosophy is how you practice (in theory, more efficiently) but you've just got to rep the thing a million times.

Our first 6 games under Dykes we averaged under 17 points per game.

Obviously Cumbie's version of the Air Raid is really different from Dykes or Leach or Mumme. And he brought two QBs with him that he's coached before. And we have what seems like some talent at skill positions. And we play a fairly weak overall schedule. And I wonder if the personnel situation is probably not a little less drastic in going from what Holtz wanted to do and recruited for to Cumbie than it was from Dooley to Dykes.

TCU's first 6 games with Cumbie as co-OC they averaged around 45 points per game. So who knows, maybe we can turn it on a little quicker than I expect.

I never saw it that low at Docsports. Sitting at +20 right now. Lowest I saw was +19.5.

After looking over guides from both schools, I cannot fathom why we are 20 point dogs. We will be within 10. I give us the advantage at WR, LB, and Secondary. They have slight edge at DL and Special teams.. QB and RB are a wash. OL will determine it.

Thanks for the info. Docsports is a betting service, meaning they do not take bets, but sell you picks. Think Al Pacino in "Two for the Money". It's not one of his better movies, but think of the movies he has been in.

Anyway they like us at +16, so they must love us at +20.5. No Vegas book that I saw ever had us at 16.
