Enrollment is down nationally again this year, but not at the same rate as the last two years. I think selective and highly selective admission schools are getting hit the most. 3.3 would be a little worse than the national average drop.

Will Healy out at charlotte. Too bad he couldn't make it to our game.

Keep checking this thread for Jimbo news!
$85.95 million after this season or close to four years of our entire athletic budget.
Jimbo's contract is $95 million over 10 years.
Mel Tucker's contract at Michigan State is $95 million over 10 years.
Mario Cristobal's contract at Miami is $80 million over 10 years.
That's $270 million for 9-12.
All three of them are 3-4 this season.
in 1979 Tech fired Larry Beightol after 10 games and the team sitting at 2-8. That team was better than this 2022 version and would whip 'em like a sick puppy. Offense was an issue, but the defense was solid. We lost at Miami 6-0 giving up just two field goals, we beat USL 17-0. Did lose to soon-to-be Saints' QB Bobby Hebert and NSU in the silly State Fair Game, 25-21. That didn't help Beightol's cause, for sure. I have heard there were "other issues" that led to Beightol's dismissal, more than just the on-the-field disappointment.
This 2022 team really, really sucks. I have yet to see any signs of coaching that gives me reason to be hopeful. I do think Coach Crumble has a better offensive mind than Holtz......which is not saying much. If Crumble finishes 2-10, will he be fired? If we care about the football program's future, he should be. If he finishes 4-8 (wins over FIU and Charlotte) that still sucks, given how weak our schedule is, but is that enough for him to keep his job? Most posters here will say "yes," I'm sure. The only saving grace for him would be the buyout. Tech is too cheap to can a 1st year coach and have to dole out money. What is the buyout?
Sonny will be owed 75% of the remaining value on his contract.
Let's do the math, if he was fired after this season.
Next year he will be paid $950,000. Then $1,000,000 per year for the next three years. That's a four year total of $3,950,000. 75% of that is $2,962,500. So we would owe him $2,962,500, plus 75% of any money yet to be paid for this season.
I don't expect Cumbie to be fired this year, even if he finishes 2-10. And that is not just because of the buyout, it's just not something Tech normally does. Not in our DNA.
And then if he manages even 6-6 next season why! the sky is blue again, the clouds are gone, and all is right in Dawg Nation!
I think his offense is progressing - we all knew the qb situation was a shit show going into the season and it has really progressed the last few weeks and given us with a glimmer of hope for the future
Our offensive lines and d-lines are trash right now, which the blame has to be squarely laid at the feet of his predecessor
Most injuries that I can remember in a long time
Should of showed better at So Alabama but they were primed for us
Lack of depth and talent is really evident up and down this roster and that's going to take a while to fix even with the transfer portal

West Virginia is always tough at home. They are much weaker on the road. The only game WVA lost at home this year was to a much improved Kansas.

It has always been the 9th class day that the numbers are based on. And the 15th class day is always by around the end of September. Even when classes didn't start until the Friday after Labor Day, the latest that day could fall would be September 11 and would make the 15th class day Thursday, October 1.
This year the first class day was Thursday, September 8. The 9th class day was Tuesday, September 20, and the 15th class day was Wednesday, September 28. The 9th class day on September 20 is even noted in the university calendar on the online catalog as Census Day. The Fall 2021 enrollment story was posted on Wednesday, September 29, which was last year's 15th class day. And it is still crickets on Fall 2022 enrollment on October 24.
ULL's enrollment story was posted 10 days ago and was down 6.2% to 15,219. All figures are in based on this quote in the story. "Jim Henderson, president of the ULS system, said UL Lafayette’s enrollment story fits comfortably within the range of other ULS schools, which averaged about a 5.5% enrollment decrease." A 5.5% drop would put Tech at around 10,558. I would expect Tech's figure to be between 10,558 and 11,000, but not over 11,000.
