Didn't we have one fired as he walked off the field? Might even have been the son of a famous football coach. Odds are with me on that last sentence.

Very odd that he gets fired walking off the field, but yet he talks to the team after the game in the locker room telling what they will need to improve on for the next game. Then he goes to the post game press conference. Answers all the questions asked by the press. No mention that he just been fired. On Sunday the ad announces that Edwards is no longer the coach.
Odd that he would be in the locker room after the game and not tell the team he was no longer the coach. The address the media, again no mention of not being the coach. Where was the ad? Very unusual that he would get to do those things if he was already fired. Plus the ad did not say he was fired until Sunday.
I remember the story of Mike Sherman at Texas A&M. He was in a recruit's driveway when he was called on the phone and told of his firing. While he was upset that news was leaking before he could talk to his family / players, he still went in the house and talked to the recruit and his family about why TAMU was the right place for him. While he may not have been the most successful college coach, that story showed me he had a lot of class.
Boise State fired their OC. Now their four year starter at QB has entered the portal. This season he will redshirt having played in only four games. Due to covid he will have two years to play for his new team. It's a new world.

Turns out Herm wasn't fired on the field. You can not believe everything someone tweets, people make crap up.

How about instead of the Tech fans falling out with Cumbie over these next few years of hard times football and maybe calling for him to be fired if he doesn’t work some sort of miracle we start right now calling louder and louder for Guice to step down. After all he’s the reason why Tech is so down and out and seemingly lost. It’s totally inexcusable for the headman of a university to be so totally clueless and inept at managing things and steering the program into future. If this was a ship at see all hands would be lost.
Tech’s campus doesn’t resemble what it looked like 5 to 10 years ago. It’s difficult to imagine the money spent on our campus. It would be cool if the parents sending their kids to Tech were actually raising them to be Tech fans, but they aren’t. Our president is winning among his peers. Very few of his peers are fans of ANY Tech sport.
Vision and leadership is inspired from top down. Guice has done well managing money the state was going to send to Tech for campus development no matter who the Prez is. He has no idea how to use money generated by or donated to sports. As has been stated, we need a business mind on the 16th floor that understands what his AD and coaches are supposed to do and knows how to monitor whether they are or not. Guice, like Reneau, is probably the nicest guy you will ever meet. We need ruthless business people making decisions with people under them who can smooth the water when their boss comes on too strong.
