Lady Techster Roster Moves & Updates?

Last year several Lady Techsters were asked to leave the program when Head coach Brooke Stoehr decided to completely rebuild the roster with 10 NEW players. This offseason everything has been very quiet. In fact, it's been difficult to find any info on 2022-23 season roster moves or changes.

Has anybody heard of any new Lady Techster players coming on board this past off season? Did Brooke even have a signing class of players in 2021-2022 that will be true freshmen in the upcoming season? Any new transfers?

Of course there was a signing team! A quick look at the roster reveals new recruits: Jaiden Thomas 5’9 Guard from Arkansas, Ayen Angoi 6’0 Forward from Texas and Anja Bukovic 5’10 Guard from Serbia. Also Aaliyah Morgan 6’1 Transfer Forward from TCU.

I think you are very close. But I believe it's two high school kids, one each from Arkansas and Texas. One signee from Serbia. And, one from TCU through the transfer portal.

That is correct. Also, Gabbie Green will play after sitting out last season with injury. Of course, all of this information is available on the latechsports website.

So, the Lady Techsters return essentially all starters from last season, plus we should finally get the services of Gabby Green, the 6th year player who started 47 of 48 games in 2019-2021 at the University of Pittsburgh in the ACC.

I don't think most LA Tech fans realize that THIS particular Lady Techster team is LOADED with talent. And this year it's a team that's loaded with EXPERIENCED talent.

If you recall, last season --thru mid January-- the Lady Techsters started the season with an 8-8 overall record, including 0-4 in CUSA. But then, on January 17th, things suddenly clicked for this team, and they compiled a 13-3 record the rest of the way before losing the CUSA Conference Tournament FINAL game to Charlotte 68-63, in Frisco, TX. (BTW, the Lady Techsters led that game for 3 full quarters.)

By any measure, last season ended up being a phenomenal success for the Lady Techsters. But as I look at this roster, I see tons of talent returning this season, and barring injury, tons of experience too.

This is the kind of team that can win big.

I don't see how this team doesn't win 25 games, and possibly a CUSA Tournament Championship in this 2022-23 season. And yes, that means an invite to the big Dance. Get ready. This upcoming season should be a fun ride for Lady Techster basketball fans.

I agree with the optimism. I am looking forward to a team that will win the conference and conference tournament!
