Hall of Fame: Tramon Williams - latechsports.com

A new article has been posted on www.latechsports.com:

Whether "the important people" paid to notice such things didn't think he could do it or didn't think about him at all, Williams, who filled out at 5-11 and 190, just kept doing what he does, which was more than enough to earn him a spot in the Louisiana Tech Athletics Hall of Fame.

    Discuss it here.

Very well deserved recognition for a really good football player. He was one of the ones you enjoyed going to watch because he played with a determination to be successful at his position. I’d say he did that. Congratulations on your historical honor, you’re in great company.

His interception against Fresno State in 2004 sealed one of the biggest wins in JAS history.

    The 7:04 mark

Tramon's interception against the Falcons. Backbreaking play.

Especially with the “5 stripe” uniforms and on a player like the “T” man!

We totally abandon the red helmets. I'm not sure who makes the uniform decisions (coaches, equipment staff, team), but it is really silly we no longer wear the historic red lids.

Bring back players of the quality who wore the red helmets, like Ryan Moats, Tramon Williams, etc...and things will be right again. A little quality coaching would help too.

Seems like the article would include a picture of Tramon Williams.

The stadium may not have been full, Jack Bicknell could have coached better during his entire tenure, but it sure seemed the players, coaches, and fans cared a lot more 18-20 years ago.

I think Dooley was the one who stoked pride among the fans and alum. We've seen it build up and die down a few times since then, but I distinctly remember him demanding excellence and taking pride in the brand.

WOW! Listen to that crowd, at the 7:30 mark when LA Tech's QB takes a knee for the win! Great environment in Joe Aillet Stadium. Nobody left at halftime back then!

Man, I miss those WAC days.
