Plus, the defense got a blocked punt in the 2nd half and had another turnover that the Offense couldn't convert into any points via a missed FG.

It's not a stretch to say the LA Tech offense took the 2nd half off.
Just glancing at the gamebook: in the second half not counting the kneel down we had 6 drives, ran 28 plays for 82 yards, and scored 6 points on offense.

Those 6 points were set up by gift turnovers from MTSU and on one of those FG "drives" the offense went backwards, -2 yards. No, the offense scored ZERO points in the 2nd half. The defense and special teams scored all our points in the 2nd half.

So......has your buddy Skip Holtz gotten a college football job yet? He's been on the market for a year now. I mean, If Tech made such a bad mistake firing Holtz, why isn't he employed as a HC somewhere?

Skip Holtz has a coaching gig. And he was an invited guest and was on the Notre Dame sideline this weekend as the Irish crushed Clemson 35-14. He was highlighted by the NBC TV crew as they sung his praises as coach of the champion Birmingham Stallions. He has been or is still being paid by Tech in the buyout and he is at least drawing some kind of check coaching the Stallions. He's probably content for the time being.

NONE of that changes the fact that nobody wants to hire Skip Holtz. Nobody is chasing Skip Holtz. That Birmingham Stallions job was tailored made for washed up coaches, not currently employed by an FBS school. That job was more about "availability" than anything else.

Down-in-the-dumps G5 programs might be (probably would be) interested in Skip Holtz, but I doubt he'd be interested in them UNLESS he was unemployed. No P5s would be...not even Vanderbilt. If he can ride this Stallions' gig for a while and have some consistent success then maybe, big MAYBE, a school might come calling.

It is estimated those USFL jobs only pay at most $100k. Skip would trip over himself for a college job. Somebody might offer Skip a job again. We did right after he got fired, at that.

Yeah, but we are La Tech. No one else is as hapless as we can’t help being.

You got me there, but there are others. Just right up the road ULM hired Terry Bowden. He is trying to set the getting fired record.
