"After two grueling games on the road".......
What? Hell, the season has just barely started!! Don't talk to me about "two grueling road games"........... That's stupid. Tech lost the 2nd one to ULALA because they LAID DOWN and quit, and let ULALA outscore them 19-3 down the stretch.
Playing at home, perhaps Coach Talvin Hester can have some "sleeping cots" brought to the Tech bench so that our players can lay down and get some real rest during the last 10 minutes of the ULM game? At least we'd be honest about it.
Not going to be as easy as might have been expected tonight.
David Green won't dress out due to an injury suffered in practice. Sounds like Tech got after it in practice since Thursday, something needed after the collapse in the last few minutes at ULL. Coach Hester put it well saying Tech is playing well for 32 minutes a game, but not for 40 minutes.
Kaleb Stewart is out due to illness.
Cobe Williams won't play due to a violation of team rules. On that point, I'd rather see Tech lose trying to do things the right way than win doing things the wrong way. Just unfortunate timing that two other players are also out tonight.
Tech wins 79-58.
It's amazing what this team can do when they hold the opposition to 33 pts in the 2nd half instead of 59 like they did against ULALA. That's a 26 pt differential.
Quandre Bullock might have gotten the opportunity he needed to get some playing time. Granted he played at the Jr. College level last year, and ULM isn't exactly the highest level of competition, but last year Bullock averaged 17.4 points per game, registered nine 20+ scoring performances, shot 50.7 percent from the field, 35.0 percent from three and 70.1 percent from the foul line, averaged 7.1 rebounds and 2.9 assists per game, recording 10 double-doubles.
Not a bad win with the 3 players that were out. We have a VERY strong bench and they played tough - never letting up! Loved our FT shooting too! Great job, Dawgs! Yes, it was ULM but our bench won this game by fighting hard for 40 minutes!
17 of 19 from the FT line. 90%. Didn't "need" that kind of FT shooting to beat ULM, but there will be tough conference games to come where that kind of shooting WILL win games. Hopefully the Dawgs will step up when it counts the most.
Not playing with Cobe and two others and winning by 21, even though it's just lousy ULM, is a good sign.
Tech is now 17-0 all time vs ULM in the TAC.
Did any Monrovians make the drive over to the TAC? I would assume maybe less than a handful.
