Kobe Williams goes 0-2 at the stripe, gets his own rebound, then goes 1-2. SMH
Samford inbound pass ruled OOB off La Tech, but it looks like Samford touched it last. Unfortunately the replay is Patterson Sasquatch film level quality, so they stay with the call.
Why do we make things so hard down the stretch?
We really didn't deserve that one
Hey Team, play so even the fans have fun.
Man... You would think we lost by the way this thread looks. I thought be played great yesterday and watched it all. My only problem is consistency and some REALLY bad calls on us. We beat a good 6-0 team, though, on their home court. Just glad we withstood their determination and runs at the end of the half and the end of the game. Good win by the Dawgs!
Missed FTs down the stretch, after hitting 15 in a row as a team. Stupid fouls committed...YES! the zebras suddenly wanted Samford to make a comeback, some very questionable calls and non-calls that aided them. But we put ourselves in a position to have the calls made when all we had to do was play solid defense...you play defense with your feet, don't reach, just move your feet and stay between them and your basket. Several key trips we made bonehead decisions on defense. None of this has a damn thing to do with the excuses you offered.
BTW, I said nothing short of 3-0 was acceptable. 2/3 of the way there, don't blow it Dawgs.
It has everything to do with what I posted. We're one of the top free throw shooting teams in the country. In fact, coming into this event we were the top free throw shooting team in the country.
But we missed free throws down the stretch and started to commit stupid fouls because we ran out of gas. No legs at all. Cobe missed 3 of his final 4 free throw attempts.
Listen to Hester's comments. He's pushing our team on the defensive end to play high intensity defense for an entire game. It costs us the ULL game and will probably costs us again later in the season, especially the back end of one or more conference road trips.
But it's clear he's going to try to build this team throughout the season for a run in March.
Obviously, I disagree with your assessment. There is no excuse for 20-somethings, supposed Division I athletes to have "No legs at all." And as if the OTHER TEAM was not also playing at the end of a game....duh!!! Samford didn't have a "No legs at all" problem.
But, we did go 3-0 in the event, so the Dawgs delivered.
