1st & 30 ULLoL! Always fun to watch a Cajun meltdown
Middle Tennessee who we beat 40-24 defeats San Diego State (soon-to-be PAC 12?) Saturday. With McNeil at QB we also beat Rice, FIU, Charlotte and are in a bowl, probably vs USM in Mobile. Even with some blowout losses WE SHOULD HAVE BEEN BOWL BOUND. With stronger quarterback play and a bump up in defense, we should be playing in a bowl in 2023. We were closer this year than our record. (This sincere Sunshine Pumping moment brought to you in honor of Dogsince 65!!)
Nice to see two L's in the Ibowl too. UL-L adds another "L" and the bowl gets an "L" with horrible weather and a cavernously empty stadium. Ya gotta love it.
Hope springs eternal! Which accounts for this recent rash of Sunshine Pumping!
Well, hardly a rash, maybe just a pimple...
Caught most of the 2nd half of New Mexico State's bowl win today. Coach Jerry Kill was 0-5 all-time in bowls, so congrats to him getting his first W. NMSU is now 4-0-1 all-time in bowls. Never would have thought that.
Coach Kill is much the better coach over what we got. Except for a few hiccups, and a couple of dumb plays, I was impressed with NMSU's level of play. They seemed to know what they were trying to do...and did it. BTW, saw the replay of one such dumb play when a NMSU defender took out BG's starting QB....bam! Now that's football! Er, when it's done between the sidelines, that is.
2023 is a big question mark. Not only for Tech but for every G5. What will any of our rosters look like coming out of summer workouts? Who knows who heads off for NIL money or for a P5 opportunity.
Russdawg, you are absolutely correct about 2022. When Parker got hurt against Rice we were driving to go up 17-0. If he stays healthy we not only beat Rice, FIU, and Charlotte I think we easily beat all 3. They would have all looked similar to the MTSU game - 14-24 points.
I think we would have ended up heading to the Bahamas to play Miami (OH). UAB would have been in Mobile to play USM.
The Liberty Bowl turned into a fun game to watch. Great comeback by Kansas.
That Kansas QB was pretty awesome once he settled in.
Bama didn't lay an egg in a non-playoff bowl game, for a change,
Hope Dykes' bunch holds on to their lead. Defense has been stout, but they need more points.
Congrats to the Big 12, Sonny Dykes and TCU. They defeated a previously undefeated Michigan team, 51-45.
One thing I like about TCU is, they don't complain a lot. They just recruit, reload and continue winning. Never mind the coaching change, the transfer portal or the NIL stuff, they just continue winning.
Dykes’ teams are usually in it no matter what the mismatch looks like. I sure hope our coaches are going to be this competitive.
