And the current AD is nothing but an empty suit. Guice simply doesn't care and will not do anything about righting the ship. Another empty suit. None of our coaches are worth a damn, in any sport. They are all mediocre, just barely "good enough" not to totally suck (just barely). Well, the verdict is still out on Coach Crummy, he might totally suck. We'll see soon enough.

Fortunately, I don't give a damn anymore. Not to the point I am willing to try to do something about it. Tech losses simply don't bother me. Good thing, eh!

No doubt. But Holtz could’ve been challenged on “his best efforts” clause. Another arguing point here for paying was that it would be hard to get a decent coach if we tried to renege on the buyout, even though we had cause. In hindsight, that argument seems laughable considering who we hired.

But hey, it’s not my money. I could care less.

This would be great! I thought I read somewhere that he was going to Houston. It’s awesome he is coming here!

did anyone else catch Dilfer's interview at half of the UAB vs. Miami OH game? it was pretty hard to listen to as a Tech fan. We would meet none of the 3 key items he is looking for in a college program / university to lead / coach there. Sounds like UAB boosters are pouring significant amount of money into that program.

I did not listen. What are the three things?

a university completely committed to athletics, a president that wakes up and goes to sleep thinking about how to grow the football program - knowing the football program is the revenue generator for all other sports

a robust and engaged donor base that will commit to the growth of the program

an athletic director that understands the landscape of major college football and athletics

he nailed key points about players - be at UAB to go to class, treat women right, commit to the program, be engaged with the university and community

Maybe 1 or 2 wins tops.

Cumbie and crew seem overwhelmed by the amount of rebuilding Tech football will take. We are not a good football team right now.
1 or 2 wins? Aren’t we playing 3 schools who are FCS this season, 3 more schools with new coaches and of the 6 remaining teams 2 of those had losing records this year? Plus our highly complex defense has to improve in year 2. Almost by default it has to be better. Plus it should be fully implemented by the first game.

If 1 or 2 wins us all we get next year Sonny is not the right guy. We have to see some improvement in the record next season. If 1 or 2 wins is it, Sonny should be shown the door. And none of the people in the room when Sonny was picked need to be in the room the next time.

I see 4-5 wins next year. IMO.

It is expected of the high school kids who will sign this year, 85% of them will sign during the early signing period which starts Wednesday. Of the 261 schools who play Division 1 football only one school has offered this player a scholarship to date. There are no sure things until the LOI is signed but the chances this kid gets flipped are pretty slim IMO. Unless someone else has offered him that now if the recruiting services know about he should be in Ruston. Go Dawgs!

Trent Dilfer said this about UAB's president?

Man, if anyone doubted the impacts of CTE. . .

Was Trent running QB camps or something in 2014? How does he not know their history?

    Maybe so.

But Watts ain't that guy. You can't go on tv and talk about how important it is to have the school president on board at UAB.

You're just asking to bring the whole debacle back up.

No, you COULDN'T care less. And neither could I.

I'm surprised at how many people can't get this verbiage right.

Saying that you "could care less" means exactly what it says......that you still care enough that it really doesn't bother you enough to care less. But if you couldn't care less, it means that you actually care as little as possible.
