Interesting results in C-USA again, as FAU takes over 1st place all alone by beating UAB at Boca in the battle of unbeatens. FIU wins at home over Charlotte, UTSA beats Middle, and WKU is still trying to dig out of a 21-2 1st half hole at home against North Texas on CBSSN.

UTEP is going to be tough and rested, but sometimes teams that haven't played recently can be a little rusty. We need a big lead in the first half to have a fighting chance in this one. My prediction is that UTEP will shake off any rust and be full strength in the second half.

It was a good game. We missed a lot of FTs that would have put it away early, but Rice was so hot from 3 (a common story) that it might not have mattered anyway. Good to have to dig deep and keep fighting.

We missed ALOT of FTs that would of put this one away EARLY...

And we were 5-8 in regulation from the line and 5-7 from the line in OT

We didn't miss a lot of FTs mainly because we didn't shoot alot of FTs -

10 of 15 from the line is nothing to brag about...not that anyone is bragging. Of course, in a close game, and obviously any game that goes OT is a close game, FTs, that is, missed FTs are magnified.

Second suspension with this one being indefinite was the last act. If he wasn't willing to follow the rules, getting the bad apple out of the way now is the best possible outcome. He was underachieving this year anyway, and the newcomers that are getting his minutes appear to have bigger up-sides.

And Malcolm just confirmed on the pregame that Green has been dismissed from the team.
