This game is HUGE! WKU was emerging as a top contender, but has struggled some lately. They still sit at #2 in the standings. A win against them will help with some momentum against #1 MTSU this weekend, plus it will probably solidify our top 5 finish and bye to the quarter finals in the conference tournament. Having Roberson back for this one helps a LOT, plus Sant has been playing VERY well lately. Of course, we will need for Walker to do her thing for us to have a chance. This will be our biggest test of the year so far with our full roster. Tough games this week, but we have them at our place - hopefully that will help.

Keiunna Walker will be playing her final two home games against WKU and MTSU. Keiunna has been a huge contributor on both offense and defense: amazing at drawing charges on defense, quick aggressive rebounder, and of course scoring and drawing fouls. She will be greatly missed and we are blessed that she played for Louisiana Tech. Mrs. Russdawg and I will never forget her, glad we've got these two games at home!!

Maybe 80-100 fans there. No students because of quarter break. Wow.

Re: Preview: LA Tech vs. WKU

That was an awesome win for the Techsters!!!! I watched on CUSAtv (which didn't start streaming until we were up 11-0. We had our usual lapses, but none of those lapses lasted as long. Due to injuries, we only had 8 players and WKU had a full bench and was flying around with a full court press the entire game. They kept rotating in new players. They do not have a "star" on their team, but have a deep bench and all can score. There was going to be no wearing them down, so we had to give it all we had and I think we did. Free throw shooting was not as good as usual, but Walker and Roberson hit 100% of theirs. WKU was aggressive and did get into Walker's head some, but she overcame that and was her usual self. Overall, that was a great win and we have a couple of players that were hitting their threes consistently too. That dropped WKU down to 3rd in the standings with us tied with Rice for 4th. Rice swept us early in the year, so that tie-breaker goes to them. They only way to get past them is to upset MTSU on Saturday and finish strong against the FU's. At this point, we just need to be in that top 5 before the tournament to get that big bye to the quarterfinals. There may be some movement in the 2 and 3 spot, which could help us, as UTEP and WKU need to win out to keep their spots.

This is a very typical Brooke team that improves all during the season and ends up as contenders in the tournament. We shall see if we can finally break that barrier, but MTSU is REALLY good this year! MTSU is #25 in the country with only 3 losses on the year. The good thing is that UTEP (also very good) and UTSA found a way to beat them. The only other team that did it was Texas Tech barely. They beat FIU last night 85-46.

Oh, I guess I thought quarter break and Mardi Gras coincide. Even better(worse).

Attendance in any sport is based on winning and winning big (plus, games against name opponents)... At this point, I am happy with every win and hope we can win more to bring people back to watch. It is the same with football, MBB, Baseball, and even softball.

Wonder how many people are in the same boat as we are. My family of 4 never missed a game for years. Now we have practice, dance, church, homework, and club meetings weeknights and weekends. Surely it’s not just us. There have to be other diehards who have experienced this life change which eliminates even the thought of attending.

Sometimes. But I am pretty sure there is a Mardi Gras break.
