If the team can’t be as high as a kite for this series and take all of their frustrations out on Air Force then there’s seriously more wrong with what’s going on with this team than the weekend’s superior opponent and a heap of bad timing. Come on Dawgs get it right.
Tomkins is starting tomorrow night according to Burroughs.
Corona will likely miss the next 5 games due to the illness that prevented him from catching yesterday. Evans will be catching with Slaughter and Cobb possibly also filling in.
As much as I doubt Burroughs by what I see happening on the field sometimes, he’s definitely an optimistic guy who can make you believe in what he saying. I get why the players like him so much. He undoubtedly went head over heels trying to sell how hard Fouts works at coaching the pitchers. Unfortunately sometimes ‘working hard’ isn’t the thing that gets the job done. I’m stuck with my doubt that Fouts is the right guy for this job. Best of luck though…
Let’s be honest… a very surprisingly good pitching performance tonight and most of all by Fincher. I’ve been watching him all his years at Tech and didn’t know he could pitch that commandingly. I’m not sure if I’m relieved or mad at how much he’s been holding back all this time. As for our bats, they weren’t as good as they’re supposed to be but were good enough in little bits. Here again it’s surprising and disappointing that the bats you’d think would be the strongest simply aren’t. Drost and Matulia should probably take a seat at least tomorrow to allow them a chance to get their heads straight and some other guys to get their positions.
Heard tonight that Corona and Burchfield both have C-19. Out tomorrow too.
Probably because he knows Evans is the ace in the hole we need right now.
If it’s COVID, why was he in the dugout tonight….
