what's crazy is that 1/2 our losses came to teams that are still play or won the CBI.
This team only lost by more than 10 in 4 games (Wyoming, MT x 2, UNT).
The rest of the losses were by 9, 6, 1 (OT), 5, 2 (CLT), 2 (UNT), 7 (UAB), 6 (UAB), 4, 5 (OT FAU), 10 (UNT), 7 (CLT), 10, 4 (FAU).
With some team chemistry (leadership), this team had a chance to make noise.
Yet it the excuse was "bad culture" and "no buy-in" and all but two of those contributors are no longer in the program...Originally Posted by sportdawg

I've heard the talent excuse as well-- we had enough talent to play with FAU, North Texas and UAB. Wait until they see the talent comparisons next season. We're going to be comparable to ULM.

Do you have knowledge of the players coming in for next year? I haven't seen anyone yet- just curious if you have based on your assessment for next year. I hope better talent makes a difference- I'm not sure talent will matter much. If we have worse talent, we are really screwed for next year.
The only players we are seeing is juco talent -

And don't be surprised if there are major changes in the transfer portal etal this coming year - the blue bloods are furious over the Final Four participants and will do everything possible to swing things even more into their favor

Like you, I remember the very lean years at Tech. It is sad to see what could have been and isn't. We just have to hope we get lucky and Hester is a great recruiter.
I don't have much. But I'm looking at the other offers extended to the players we get commitments from.

The ONE player we have picked up so far is a Juco player with no other offers. Screams reach to me.
There are so many in the portal, I am hoping we get lucky and find a diamond or two.

TBH, UCONN also contributed to not having a bigger half-time lead missing some easy shots and turnovers.
The Huskies were uncanny the entire tournament at stopping/responding to runs by their opponents. Have to give SDSU credit, they are tenacious.
