A heart full of prayers to the family. May your grief be softened by your blessing of excellent memories and our eternal hope.

So sorry for his families loss. The world and Tech lost a good man.

I was a senior in high school the year Ruston won the state championship against Neville in 1982. They played twice that year, in the regular season and in the state championship finals. In the regular season game I was in the stands with my brother (who also recently passed) and Coach Mick was right behind us. The most enjoyable experience I ever had at a football game. It alternated between him yelling encouragement to the team and he and my brother talking offensive strategy. He was one of those rare individuals that people will always remember fondly. A true Tech legend. Prayers to the family.

Heck of a man and just nice! First time I ever met him he’d stopped in my store to drop off a flat of Ruston peaches …he only knew me at that time from my posts on this board and mutual friends. He continued to do such many times after . Truly a class act!

He had the unique ability to make everyone around him feel better regardless the situation, regardless the audience -

Visiting with him at baseball games in the old park was was always my favorite - the stories, the laughs, the knowledge he passed along

I was blessed to call him a friend

Many years ago I was seated near him at a baseball game. He commanded the attention of all those around him. Not because he was trying to, just that folks were naturally drawn to his persona. Some of those people probably didn't know who he was, they were just captured by his sense of humor and genuine character.

Calling him at his office was always fun. Holding for him and anticipating him getting on the line...he's always say SLAUGHTAH! in his booming voice when he got on the line.
