I remember our trip down to Hattiesburg this year for the USM game and wondered whether tickets would be available, which there were. Now, since they are hosting a super regional playing Tennesee I saw on a Jackson TV station that all tickets are sold and some behind home plate being resold for up to $1,000.

USM (baseball and football) have cowardly, horrible fans, and the average age of their current baseball team is like 25. They will come back to earth next year.

BTW, they NEVER sell out their aluminum erector set stadium unless they are playing Ole Miss or Miss State.

It looked to me like you could chalk up OR’s loss to a bad coaching decision in not putting in the closer to start the 9th. One walk is bad enough but two is just asking to get beat.

Florida’s starting pitcher today pitched 8 shut-out innings against a very good hitting SC team.

Last year he made 3rd team All-American at USM. Yet USM made it back to Super Regional for the 2nd consecutive year even after losing him. Does Tech have one pitcher that could’ve made the team at USM? I’m sure someone will remind me that Tech beat them in a meaningless game.

Last year he made 3rd team All-American at USM. Yet USM made it back to Super Regional for the 2nd consecutive year even after losing him. Does Tech have one pitcher that could’ve made the team at USM? I’m sure someone will remind me that Tech beat them in a meaningless game.

USM also had 5 other underclassmen pitchers drafted and signed in the MLB draft. Great programs rarely ever have to rebuild. They just reload. Look at Bama, Ohio State or UGA in football. They get hammered every year by the NFL draft, the next season great again.

Some really good baseball today. Some explosive offense. Really good pitching. For the most part, consistent work behind the dish. Love this sport

All of those teams have competent leadership in place. That’s the difference between them and what we have in Ruston.
