BREAKING: KSLA News 12 Sports has confirmed that Lee Hedges Stadium is closed and will not be in use for the entire 2023 high school football season due to issues inside the venue, before scheduled renovations. We’ll hear from coaches affected today on @KSLA

Byrd will split games between Independence & Northwood according to my son.
Shreve will split between Independence & Evangel according to @318Sports.
Don't know where Southwood will move there two home games.

Independence is fine except during the State Fair. Northwood is a drive. If Shreve is playing at Evangel, don't see why they wouldn't ask Loyola or Calvary.

Shreveport has 7 high schools using 3 stadiums.
Northwood & Green Oaks > Northwood Stadium
Byrd & Shreve > Lee Hedges < Byrd & Shreve were scheduled to play 7 games each (total of 13 games) at the stadium over 10 weeks.
Woodlawn & Huntington > Independence
Southwood splits between LH & Indy.
BTW is the only team playing in there own stadium w/o another school .

The two schools most affected by the stadium’s closure are Captain Shreve and Byrd, which play their homes football games at Lee Hedges. Thursday, Tisdale met with Independence Stadium officials to check the availability of that facility. As a result, all but two of Shreve and Byrd’s home games will be played at Independence Stadium. The other two games for each school will be played in Jerry Burton Stadium at Northwood High School.

I was thinking today that maybe he had left something to be spent on the stadium and the decision makers decided to go ahead with that spending...

Willis Knighton put up $3million to upgrade locker rooms and add a trainers room on each side. I think some other things were happening.

It was supposed to start after track season, but apparently some delays. Then they found asbestos last week. That's what put it out of commission for the season.
