Phil Robertson film "The Blind" releasing 9/28/2023

I just found out that a film of Phil Robertson's (QB # 10 jersey) story is releasing Thursday 9/28/2023. The trailer looks good. I'm sure Tech will be shown and mentioned.

    https://theblindmovie.com/

I plan to go see this.

Idea: Tech should show this in the TAC, Auditorium, or something over Homecoming weekend... who, on campus, could I contact to get this rolling?

Didn't see any reference to his QBing at Tech in the trailer.

It IS a trailer so time is limited. But I did see him walking in uniform with number 10 on.

Robertson's QB days at Tech are way overrated, IMO. Scuttlebutt has it that Bradshaw only got on the field because Robertson left. Horse hockey! TB was twice the QB as Phil. I recall the 1966 season (yes, I am that old) when Tech only won one or two games......the starting QB? None other than Phil Robertson. Robert Brunet was the star running back, so it wasn't because there was no run game that year.

Terry had to just wait his turn to take over the reins. Even TB mentioned that myth once, but I do believe he was only being nice to Phil.

Respectfully, but this has nothing to do with dawg80's question.

1966 was a year of adjustments - schemes, offense, big hitter replacements, and Laird & company departed.
Phil didn’t see the field much in 65 and I doubt anyone can name a receiver he was throwing to. Wasn’t that the year after the”platooning ended? Phil & TB may have set a record for INT s for a year in 66.

We had a few 65 grads that made some pro rosters - JRWilliams, JR Peace, David Lee, Griffin, Boudreaux, Laird come to mind

As a freshman in 1965, Phil would not have seen the field as a varsity player; same goes for TB in 1966.

It makes a good story if you are in the business of selling duck calls/hunting videos. The passion for hunting was greater than his desire to be an NFL QB. Phil is a a good salesman, the Duck Commander brand is well known, he has used it as a platform to promote his faith.

drove to El Dorado to see it as Celebrity theater in ruston isnt showing it. When i emailed them the response was, production company only works with large movie chains. Willie Robertson is the production company, and, the movies are being shown in El Dorado, Minden, Springhill, but not in Ruston. I think someone dropped the ball on this one.

Movie was really good, only a little about Tech mainly to give some background information. Movie wasnt about football, or ducks, was about personal battles and rising from that.

Thank you for the information. The response you got from the theater is crazy since it is possible for schools and churches to host the movie. https://faithcontentnetwork.com/host/the-blind Someone in Ruston should show it - either Tech or one of the churches.
