Davis Out, Van Hoy questionable for A&M

T. Davis suffered a concussion and damaged rib cage and is expected to miss 3-4 weeks according to JB in News-Star.
Chris Van Hoy is also questionable due to a hip injury.

Neither of these is good news. I'd be willing to bet Van Hoy plays. Who will fill in for Davis now? I guess A. Bryant?

We the physical beating that our team has taken this year, we need to recover before WAC play. We want our team in good condition for RICE, if we start getting beat up physically against A&M like we were at Penn State I hope that we consider saving some of our players for WAC play.

If Davis is suffering from a concussion he should be able to play against Rice-that would give him 2 full weeks off.
Van Hoy we need him for Rice no doubt, I don't think he will miss a game though. It is some hip injury but not sure how serious. Go to links and click on News-Star.

I had not heard about these injuries until today, but I was just thinking earlier in the week that we have come through these four games in pretty good shape injury wise. We had more guys hurt in Spring and Fall practice than we have in four games.

It makes me wonder how many concussions Davis has had. By most guidlines, you can return to play in 1-2 wks after your first concussion, depending on the severity and given you are completely asymptomatic for one full week prior to return to play. With your second concussion, most recommend sitting out 1 month, with an asymptomatic period of 2 wks prior to return to play. After your third concussion, it is recommended you hang it up for the season.
