Drost is a weak fly ball hitter

McConell before suspension was a gap hitter

Now Swafford (sp?) is a fly ball hitter

Davis is more than not a straight pull hitter

McLeod - singles hitter and gap roller

AD is a fly ball hitter

Haven't seen enough of Furr to make a determination but he is in the top 30 in returning lifetime hits leader frm his time at UNO

You’re giving Drost and Safford way too much credit simply by calling them ‘hitters’. Last year they struck out more than anything and this year hasn’t started much better if at all. Drost had 75 Ks last season and yet he’s still on the roster and even playing. That alone is inexplicable. Even this past weekend against weak college level pitching he went 0 for 7 with 2 Ks.

Thinking he will be first man out based on last week's performance and McConnell coming back. Did you notice his name was NEVER brought up by LB in any of the pre-season interviews? I really want him to succeed, but he has not shown us much so far (last year). He has so much power, but he is far from a clutch hitter.

Drost has a long swing that’s too slow through the plate to hit consistently. To make up for that he has to start his swing early which makes him especially vulnerable to curves. He’s usually overpowered by good pitching. He swings a lot like Matulia did except Drost’s contact isn’t as solid.

I was thinking the same thing only making less contact than Phil.
