Hey Coach Bick, it's now or never. If you and Louisiana Tech EVER plan to beat Texas A&M in football, THIS IS YOUR YEAR.

The Aggies are a program in turmoil right now. They are vulnerable. We should be able to take advantage of their problems and vulnerability. However, you and the other Tech coaches have got to know how to CLOSE THE DEAL and go for the jugular!

Coach B, if you can't beat A&M this year, you might as well take them off the schedule. You'll NEVER get a better opportunity than this Saturday.

Yea, and if we get inside their 10 yard line and you call a rushing play, you are a fool. Might as well take the rushing plays our of the playbook this week. Run 5 receiver sets all night, rotate receivers in, send two per play on a fly pattern and wear their DBs out. By the third and fourth quarter, they will be gassed.

And don't run that STUPID "floater" pass play in the corner of the end zone either. That play is lucky to work 1 out of 6 times.

I hope the coaches don't have too much trouble rewriting the game plan after reading this thread. Those kids were probably practicing how to turn the ball over to the Aggies anytime they get inside the red zone and now everything will have to change!
Maybe BBB can get the instructions posted early next week to help them start early on planning for the Rice game. I know that advice would have been online earlier this week had the hacker not gotten to us. It must have been some Aggie who did graduate work in computer science elsewhere to do such a job on our board. And it was all to try to keep us from getting our coaches straight on the situation in Kyle Stadium!
I guess the people who write the instructions on those plastic-covered wrist bands will have to stay up all night now!

I agree that the fad, or "floater", is not a good choice for Tech. We simply have not shown that we have a receiver who can make that play. Generally teams that have success with this play are ones that have a large, fast, athletic receiver who can aggressively go up and get the ball and fight off the defender and still remain in bounds.

That guy from Oklahoma State is the type. This is no knock on our guys. They can and will do much better than they have in the first 4 games.

I hope we do Seize the Day, but I think the Aggies' defense is still so tough they will be tough to beat at College Station. The stuff about telling the coaches what plays to run is just funny. I wonder how bad some of you guys would get ripped after a game in which you were actually given the keys to the offense. I have an idea it would be awful.

I would never claim to be a better coach than any coach we have ever had. The best I have ever done was coach little league. But, it does seem to me that we play competitive in the first half and then those million dollar coaches from the big schools go into the locker room and make their adjustments and we come back out and keep trying the same things that worked in the first half. That's when we start getting picked off etc. That is very frustrating :x

i think that going in at halftime, the coach who feels like what he is doing is working will always be at a disadvantage. if you're doing something that works, you've got to know the other guy is going to make adjustments, but you have no way of knowing exactly what they will try. all you can do is keep doing what works until they stop it and have some adjustment possibilities in the back of your mind just in case. the main disadvantage is that you don't have halftime to discuss it with your players.

BINGO! Our coaches must prepare for this at halftime. Assume that the other team will figure out a way to stop what you did in the first half and be ready to come out doing something different in the second! Let's be BULLDAWG SMART!

alright, this is it... last game with respect written all over it. we need to let scobee sit out this game. going on fourth down is the only way we will ever....e v e r... beat a top twenty five team. and not when it's too late. against clemson there were two opportunities near midfield in the first half, against penn state there were two opportunities early in the game inside the five, those games were decided right then, every time we kicked. we cant wait til its necessary, we have to grab the momentum when it's there to grab.
if we have a similar situation against a&m and dont go for it we WILL lose, and i'll be here to tell you about it.[/shadow]
