How many times are we going to get pinned inside our 10 or our 5 because we have a chicken$#!T PR man who let's anything between the goal line and the 25 hit the ground??? Who keeps sending this guy out there? This is every game.

I wish I had gotten to see the game so that I could discuss this subject.
You are absolutely correct Junkyard.
There are two things I'd like to change about Tech's special teams:
1) Our kick and punt coverage teams are very, very, slow. All season we've lost crucial yards to opposing return men that don't call for fair catch. They don't respect us and we are simply too slow getting our butts down the field. For the most part, Upton is getting good punts down the field. The problem is, NOBODY's there to make the tackle. Consequently, our opposition is constantly starting with good field position.
2) Tech's punt return team needs to learn that the name of the game is "punt RETURN", not "punt watch". Our guy (who will remain nameless!) doesn't seem to understand that a punt CAUGHT is about 20 yards saved, even if he has to "fair catch" the ball. He's got to quit letting the ball hit the ground and roll toward the endzone. Last night against the Aggies, Tech had the worst starting field position MORE OFTEN than I can ever remember in watching 30 years of Tech football.

I think Norwood should be our punt returner, he has great hands and may be the best athlete on our team. It would put the ball in his hands which would be really great.
I would certainly be willing to support that and give it a try.Originally Posted by LBP

Norwood best athlete? HA! Your a moron, hes athletic but the punt guy right now is probably the best!Originally Posted by LBP
You guys are nitpicking this crap to death. Brazil let these balls go because he probably thought they were going to bounce into the endzone. They should have, but they didn't. The only thing I can guess is it must have been part of the officiating crew's pay-off to put into play slightly deflated balls that won't bounce.
touchdown123,
I said may be the best athlete on our team. How do you know that he is not? He has size, speed, and hands.
First of all I can base my judgement on your analysis of Maxie Causey. That shows that your full of it and I shouldn't trust another opinion of yours about a player.
Second of all I've watched games and scrimmages, I know that Norwood isn't the best athlete.

Chicken$#!T? He's not the one posting chicken$hit comments about players behind the security of a keyboard. Why don't you give him a call and ask him if he wants to discuss it. He's in the book. If you can't find it call me tomorrow and I'll give you his number.
BTW, last night is the first night that I recall him letting any balls hit the ground. I didn't have a good view of them all, but if the ball is to land inside the 10 he is expected to let it go. He is far from being afraid to catch the ball.

touchdown123,
You go watch practices and suck up to the coaches must mean that you really know something. I bet that you think that our coaches doing the same things that don't work over and over again is brilliant. And you think that they know a lot about football because someone hired them to coach? Whether Norwood is the best athlete on the team or not doesn't matter. He is very fast and has great hands and probably has the best chance of anyone on the team to take the punts to the house. All you have proved is that you have very little football knowledge like Bick and Hines do.
I don't know what game you were watching, but the only kicks he let go hit the ground inside the 10 and died. I was always taught that you let anything inside the 10 go, but the A&M punts simply died. Every kick outside the 10 he caught and I don't remember a fair catch (he may have had one I just don't remember).Originally Posted by Junkyard Dawg
