    If there is a Division 1A team in the country who has played a tougher road schedule than Louisiana Tech over the last 4 weeks someone please post what team it is. I think we are the only team in the country to play 3 Top 30 teams all on the road over the last month.

    Here are the records & rankings of our 3 road opponents over the past 4 weeks:

    @Clemson (3-1 overall): UPI #27, AP #28, Sagarin #24
    @Penn St. (3-1 overall): UPI #21, AP #20, Sagarin #28
    @Tex A&M (3-1 overall): UPI #23, AP #23, Sagarin #27

    Valid points, and that brings to light a topic I've meant to mention on this forum before. And that is, exactly what is Tech's REALISTIC goal for the football program?

    Do we have fans that actually believe Tech can become the next Florida State or Virginia Tech? I don't believe we can. I do think we can become another Louisville though, a top-notch non-BCS program with regular and prolonged stays in the Top 25. So, are we to measure our program strictly by our record vs the better BCS programs, or by how we do overall, as a "mid-major," whatever that means?

    Hopefully we'll see more teams like Baylor, Kansas, and Vandy , and some top non-BCS teams like Southern Miss and Marshall, on our schedule, and only 1 top 15 team each year.

    My point is, if any Tech fans are longing for the day we can compete with/beat Penn State, Clemson, aTm, K State, etc with consistency...well, they're gonna be waiting a long time.

    Losing to Top 25 BCS teams on the road is a reality:

    Penn State 40 Nebraska 7
    Iowa State 36 Nebraska 14

    a reality for everyone, apparently.

    Frankly, I would like to be the next Virginia Tech. However, I do agree with you that we need to become the next Louisville first.

    Of course I wanted to believe we would beat all of these teams and be ranked in the top 15, but I knew better, and I think most that post on this board will agree. I hate losing as much as anyone, but I am realistic. This team was asked to do too much, and I only hope they are not disheartened. We still have the WAC games to play.

    We all want our program to grow, but it must come in increments, that includes attendance, atmosphere, as well as winning against the evil empire.

    The way I see us progressing to the next level is to simply do what we we've already done once and that is to win the WAC over and over and over again.

    We are laying the foundation it just takes a long time and a lot of bricks to build a program of strength and durability.

    No, we shouldn't schedule three top 25 teams in a row all on the road with their conference officials - that is crazy! Surely we figured that out this season.

    You can take the spread add 14 points to it and that is really what it is like to play on the road against the team, fans and refs.

    pathetic! All of these excuses are just so weak. These teams are not out talenting us. We just do stupid bleep, that cost of games. It is not the players or our facilities that are the problem, it is the coaches. All 3 of these games we had a chance to win, but dumbass decision after dumbass decision cost us these games. To move up in the world we have to beat Top 25 teams, which is very realistic right now.

    You are right, Bone_afide_Dawg. We must finish first or second in the WAC to go to a bowl game period- regardless of our OOC record.

    We've been in a 1A conference for barely over 1 season now. We will continue to get stronger, but it will take a few years to get there vs the BCS.

    As we all know, playing these 3 Top 25 opponents in a row all on the road was done simply to pay our bills. We have to do what we have to do as long as we have the smallest athletics budget in the WAC (even smaller than San Jose State's).

    Did anyone notice that LBP or whatever ended his post on a positive note?

    Yes, Tech could have won those games but didn't and the fault lies in many places but can't be pinned on any one individual.

    Let's win the WAC and win our bowl and use the profit from the OOC games intelligently.

    I agree, what everyone fails to understand is we are in a conference and the real season begins this week. I would have loved to win all our games, but it did not happen, but we are better prepared now for a run at the conference title (and the bowl game that comes with it) which is our primary goal.

    I am so excited about the fact that we came away from our tough OOC schedule with very few injuries.

    We do not have the fan support or money to become a Louisville! Until the fans support the program we will continue to have to play these type of schedules on the road with the opposing conference refs with VERY LITTLE CHANCE of winning! If you don't believe home field is an advantage just ask FSU and Bobby Bowden or OSU!

    Come on. Louisiana Tech does not have as much overall talent as Clemson, Penn State, or Texas A&M. Surely most of you, at least, realize that. At least I think you do from reading some of the other comments.

    We have more talent than the WAC, but Clemson, Penn St, and A&M consistently have top 10-15 ranked recruiting classes. We don't have as much talent as them and most know it. Some would like to believe it just to say it. LBP should know if after watching the games. Besides the fact that we are playing on the road with less talent we have been in every game all year in the second half and are 2-3 going into WAC play.
