Should take a VERY close look and read at this picture!

We sure know how to grow them in TEXAS!!!

Anyone who goes to Brazos Bend State Park might want to reconsider this location. This gator was caught a few weeks ago at Kitty Hollow Park in Missouri City, TX on Highway 6. A construction worker found it laying in one of these concrete pipes. The animal control officers said it weighed just under 2100 lbs. and was 18-1/2 feet long! I say again, this was TEXAS, not the Florida Everglades? (To actually think kids play at the park just a few yards away!!!)[/align:acc01cb75d]

Can you imagine being the person walking up on that monster!!! I would LOVE to hear a recording of the call placed to animal control as well!

Take a close look at the size of the front legs compared to the torso and legs of the guy standing behind it. It really puts it into perspective.

The only larger alligator I have ever seen upclose and alive was in the brackish marshes of southern Mobile Bay in the 70s. I was in a Project Sports Inc. bass tournament in the boat with Ricky Green of Arkadelphia, Arkansas, and we were running east on a bayou. The gator was longer than Green's bass boat and we confirmed that fact by turning around and coming back to get near him before he could enter the water. He was awe-inspiring. Not as nice or comforting as being near an ocean mammal, of course.
