    Louisiana Tech 31 - Rice 17.
    It could be worse if we don't turn the ball over for free points (nothing new here).

    Some stats on Rice's four games thusfar:
    * Rice has averaged 50 rushes/game (75% of their total plays) for an average of 245 yards/game.
    * They've averaged 17 passes/game (25% of their total plays) for only 81 passing yards/game.
    * Total off. yardage/game: Rice ~327 yards, LA Tech ~400 yards
    * Rice is 0-2 at home & 0-2 on the road. With 2 conference losses already they are likely out of the WAC Championship race.
    * They have a worse turnover margin/game than we do. In 4 games they also have yet to intercept an opponent's pass and have recovered only 4 fumbles, while commiting 10 turnovers.
    * They graduated the 2nd most # of seniors (25) in the WAC last year, so inexperience should continue to be a factor for them all season.

    Tech 38, Rice 19

    Rice is pumped for the first collegiate game in Reliant Stadium. A decent walk up crowd pushes for the "home" team. It is close midway through the 2nd quarter (14-10 Tech) when D.J. Curry breaks one down the sideline for a TD and the 3,000 Tech fans in attendance go nuts. Tech leads at halftime 21-10.

    Dawgs get the ball first in the second half and march it down the field for a TD on a 8-minute drive. Rice gets a drive going, but defense holds in red zone and Rice has to settle for a field goal. Next Tech possesion, Rice's D stops dawgs and Upton has to punt. A wild snap gives Rice good field position and they punch it in for the touchdown. The two point conversion fails and Dawgs lead 28-19.

    Scobee kicks a field goal and dawgs score another TD in the fourth quarter to end the game at 38-19.

    Sound like a good game?

    I think Rice is somewhere between Oklahoma State and Tulsa. Therefore, Tech will win 46-23. :P

    Tech is confused as to whether they are inside or outside in the first half, but pull away after a nice halftime show by the MOB to win 30-23.

    I don't see Tech playing all that great early on in the game, but our kicking game controls the battle of field position keeping Rice at arm's length until we are able to find our confidence.

    After a second quarter interception we come back from being down 0-7 to lead at the half 17-7.

    In the second half we once again don't make all the right adjustments but in this game the players take over to make enough plays to hold on through Rice's rally. Third quarter score Tech 20-17.

    Tech's D in the fourth is just to conditioned for Rice as we go on to win 27-17.
