I'll start.
Chris Norwood is REALLY stepping it up! This kid has TREMENDOUS talent AND heart! We are fortunate to have him and the example he sets. Go to SMU and watch this young man break loose. He has REALLY broken out the past two games!!!

On a note more responsive to the instructions for this post, Norwood is showing himself to be our go-to guy of the present and future. Here's the skinny on him for those that don't have a media guide:
-- 6-1, 180 junior who came to us from Hinds Community College in Jackson
-- Ran a 20.9 200 meter dash in track his senior season, and also a 10.5 100 meter dash.
Chose Tech over Southern Miss, Troy State and Memphis.
We're through the roughest stretch of our season with a 2-4 record and a win over a BCS team. We can finish 6-0 or 5-1 and go to a bowl with an 8-4 or 7-5 record.
Nice to have a 'positive' thread. After playing a second half like we did against Rice, we need something poritive to look forward to. I can only hope we have beaten the devil, and are ready to resume "La Tech" football! We need to play 4 quarters every game from now on, and watch our numbers go up. We still have a good chance of playing in a bowl, and we need to take advantage of what is presented to us.

We still have EVERYTHING to play for. The WAC is FAR from over and we only have one loss in WAC play. Most act like we are out of the race after losing one conference game. We WON the WAC last year with one loss and I think we can do it again with one loss. The positive is all of our games are WAC games. We still have two off weeks that come at pretty good times-before going to SJSU and before getting FSU at home. We should be playing our best then and have everyone healthy to play before what should determine the WAC champion and before a sell-out crowd! How's that for positive?
Our postseason hopes are very alive!
SMU - very beatable
Nevada - home field & rowdy H'coming crowd will help secure a win
SJSU - beatable (this will be a GREAT game!)
Boise - I'm glad they're a media darling, but they're still SLOW. We will soundly ut-athlete them.
UTEP - cake
Fresno - a FIVE game winning streak and a televised SRO Aillet will propel the Dawgs to another WAC championship!
The conference crown is STILL OURS TO WIN!!! 8-) And I, for one, am confident that our players and coaches will make the necessary adjustments to secure the championship.
Even if we tie for first with UH, we'll still be an attractive choice for the Mobile bowl. And dont forget our friends on the Indy Committee! At least one site (http://www.collegefootballpoll.com/b...ojections.html) is picking us for S'port based on the $ec's likely shortage of bowl teams.
We WILL go bowling! And 2-time National Champ Miami WILL have their streak snapped by 2-time WAC Champ TECH!

Thank the Good Lord! I did not realize, actually I did :wink: , how much we needed MJL athletic talents and leadership. I don't think RICE completes those deep routes with MJL back at SS. We will need him against Nevada and FSU. Great news!

Actually Hawaii's loss was to Boise State. So if we win all 6 remaining games (including the BSU game) we would be sole WAC Champions based on our head-to-head win over BSU & Hawaii's head-to-head loss to BSU.Our postseason hopes are very alive!

eh? That's a little confusing. By that logic, in 2001:
Colorado beat Nebraska, Fresno beat Colorado, Boise beat Fresno and Tech beat Boise. Therefore, Tech goes to the Rose Bowl! :wink:
I understand what you're saying, DW. But does the WAC's (official) Championship formula allow for the degree of seperation you cite? Or do the Dawgs get an (official) split Championship + bragging rights?

So what happens if both Rice and Tech win the rest of their conference games? Fresno beat Rice, Rice beat Tech, and if Tech beats Fresno...?
This thing is a long way from over. WE JUST NEED TO WIN AND THE REST WILL WORK ITSELF OUT.
Rice has 2 conference losses don't they? I thought they lost to FSU and someone else-Nevada? I could be wrong I was just thinking they were 0-2 before beating us in WAC.
